Another helpful topic about performance, which may yield solutiions as well: [Combined] Game runs unplayable bad. (Performance issue)

I’ve logged >100 hours in the game, and never had any issues with crashes or performance. I have just got back to playing after around 2 months break, and the game is constantly crashing after 2-3 minutes of gameplay. The crashes don’t seem to be triggered by anything in common (as far as I can tell).

Hope you can resolve this issue, as the game is currently unplayable with these regular crashes :frowning:

Hi Sundancer!

Are you still experiencing those crashes?

Silas

My character will not load into my realm. The realm tries to load for about 2 minutes before it crashes back to main menu. I can load a new character into my realm, so I am guessing it is my character that is the issue for some reason.

“C:\Users\Owner\Downloads\24f0d197-6870-4d54-9323-430e8710ba1f.dmp”

Game is consistently crashing, but doesn’t seem to be tied to any specific event or location. Usually happens about 30 minutes into the game and has been happening consistently from the beginning of playing.

Unable to get a screenshot or video since it’s a random occurrence.

Hey UFOria,

I can imagine that is not a fun experience for you.

  • Is this in a local or shared Realm?
  • Controller or kbm?
  • Do you use Wallpaper Engine?

Let me know!

Silas

Hey that’s what early access is for!

Local realm, controller, no wallpaper engine. Logs seems to have an object not set to reference error?

a glimmer of understanding, huray :hugs:

If on Xbox Controller, check this out: Regular crashing (xbox one controller) - #8 by thesambassador

Can you rule out this happens with only 1 character? (I’ve had reports that said they had issue attached to their main char but not to fresher ones)

I am also going to relay this info towards Moon Studios.

Let’s see if we can find a solution!

Silas

Hello, thanks for replying to me. I have come back to the game again to play the latest updates and unfortunately I’m still experiencing many regular crashes.

The crucible is unplayable, because the game crashes half way through the run and when I start up the game again, I’m kicked out of the crucible run, so I have to start again.

Some things that seem to trigger the crashes:

Lots of on-screen effects (fire, lightning)

Opening a shop menu

Moving between areas

I’ve had a read through some of the posts on here to find a solution, also searched through google and youtube. I’ve tried lots of things (update drivers, reinstall the game, verify the game files), unfortunately nothing seems to work. I would be really grateful if you could help me solve this, because I really love the game, but it’s currently completely unplayable for me (particularly frustrating, as in older versions of the game it was running fine).

Let’s start with a couple files then

See here: How to Properly Report Bugs! for the instructions on where to find and how to submit them.

Let’s see if we can work this out!

Silas

I can play game for about a good 10-15 mins then it crashes at random places in the game, both in and out of battle.

I’ve updated my CPU and GPU drivers. I”ve verified the integrity of my game. I’ve full reinstalled GPU drivers as well. My rig exceeds minimum suggested specs.

Files are copied in my Google Drive:

Thanks

Getting a PC crash. Have noticed some weird graphical glitches in the last few days, light too bright kinda thing, but didn’t specifically notice this before this crash. Game was running well previously.

Recently upgraded GPU from RX 580x running at 1080p minimum graphics to a 5070 1440p but have ~40hrs playing since the GPU was installed.

Uploaded files:
Player.log
Player-prev.log
dxdiag.txt

4x .dmp files from ..\backtrace\crashpad\reports\

Didn’t see a recent similar report, the most recent one looked like it was during the PRT, sorry if this should be placed there.

another one referencing JobTempAlloc but that was specifying performance not crash.

Here are confirmed case solutions that have helped at least 1 individual so far:

  1. Do not have the game installed on a HDD
  2. Xbox one controller: update your firmware. Helpful tips here: Reddit thread + source
  3. Wallpaper Engine might interfere. Disable and check results. source

Other area’s to look into:

  • Overheating on laptops
  • Power supply problems

I’ve also had a similar issue with no specific time frame, it will just happen randomly after playing from anywhere for 1min - 4+ hours. It crashes straight to desktop without warning inside and outside of crucible. It could be triggered by effects but I’ve also had 2 friends plus me using electrical/fire/pestilence bows at the same time and that didn’t trigger it during that time frame in crucible.

Unfortunately no luck, still crashing. I’ve had it happen twice now where I was looking at my inventory, so maybe that has something to do with it? I’ll keep trying to confirm if that’s always the cause.

Logged into the game today & begun experiencing the same crashing as users above.

Below are my logs.

My crashing issue has been resolved.
It appears to be an issue with my BIOS after a recent Windows update, because I was experiencing crashing issues with other games as well.

I’m having issues where the game constantly crashes unless I forcibly reduce the FPS using the Radeon Chill feature in the AMD Adrenalin software. Setting a lower idle FPS just forces the game to render at that fps unless there’s input. I’m able to get around 180+ fps without any adjustments but it constantly crashes. Reducing the idle and peak fps values extends the amount of time until it crashes until it seems to stabilize around 60 fps. I tried 144, 120 & 90 fps before trying 60 fps and it stabilized. I was currently playing on a 144hz 3440x1440 resolution with HDR. All the files are in the zip below.

Player.log
Player-prev.log
DataStore folder as DataStore.zip

All pulled from %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Moon Studios\NoRestForTheWicked

dxdiag and crash report is in one .zip file hosted on Google Drive with the link down below

Game started crashing today when i trigger the boss fight in a pestillence area. Played quite a lot in the last few weeks, did dozens of pestillence bosses and never crashed before today.

If i kill the bosses quick enough the game doesnt crash but if i’m too slow - or get the flying bird boss - then game 100% crashes.

When it crashes, pestillence is removed from the area and i have to burn stuff again in the fire.
