was really looking forward to playing this with my family and friends and the frame drops I’m getting is silly, as it was running really well before the new patch. My usual go to test is the bridge to the Watcher, where I always expect frame drops, which was running pretty smooth last patch.
This time just walking into Sacrament caused me to loose at least 50+% of my frames, I play at 60FPS.
To this point I decided to run the game on Ultra Performance with DLSS on Performance and running at a windowed resolution of 1280x720 (my usual resolution is 3440x1440.
And my frames in Sacrament is 40.
Before the new patch, I was able to play on Ultra Quality, with Quality DLSS at my native 3440x1440 resolution (if i do the frame drops by another 10-15 frames.
Something is really wrong, if I cannot increase the frames in the beginning of sacrament, and at the resolution I’ve set, even DSR cannot help.
Sacrament Marketplace runs at 20 FPS, if I leave the marketplace and look for a dark corner it gets better. I could live with it, sadly, it also happens in fights to an unplayable state.
I tried every possible Graphics combination, every performance mode and so on. It doesnt help. My GPU is at 100% while my CPU is between 15% and 20% load.
I tried every possible Bios setting, every possible Windows Setting. NOTHING helps.
I’ve had “meh” to horrible performance ever since first installing the game in March 2025 (just before The Breach update). After seeing a dev post on the steam discussions I thought I’d finally post on here in hopes of helpful response.
First things first:
My System Specs are as follows:
CPU: Intel Core i5 13600kf (~3.5hz)
GPU: Nvidia RTX4070ti Super (16gb)
RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4
SSD: Samsung 970 Evo Plus
As for the performance problems: The framerate varies wildly from the low 30s to upwards of 80, sticking to the low end for most regions, with Sacrament being the top performer at about 80-90 fps during good weather (around 70 fps during rain).
This is with DLSS 4.5 (driver version 591.74) on the “performance” preset in-game, running at 1440p resolution.
However … that does not matter all too much, since whatever I set it at, I gain or lose just about 10 fps max.
Running PresentMon alongside the game revealed that it has both very poor GPU utilization, as well as poor CPU utilization almost all the time.
This is from a 10 minute log I recorded in the Lowland Meadows (one of the worst performing area in game for me)

I’ve also been suffering from performance issues in the game since launch. Right now it’s probably the best it has been but I just noticed while going to the city area near the beginning of the game (as that’s as far as I got due to performance problems), with my setup the FPS went to as low as 7 FRAMES PER SECOND. Now this isn’t happening all over the area but a specific area. The fps here has always been bad but never this bad.
If I were to leave the city and go back to the beginning/tutorial area, the fps goes to as high as 70FPS which is an all time high for me!
I’ve taken a photo of the area where the FPS suddenly dropped to 7FPS but i’m not able to replicate it.
I really love the visual aesthetic of the game, the OST and the combat from what I’ve seen in videos but the performance seems to be holding me back sadly. I will support this game till the very end and I hope the developers will find a fix to the issue in the city! I’m going to go beyond the city and see if the performance is also improved as the latest NVIDIA Driver updates seems to have changed something for the better.
With the latest Update supposedly -once again- “fixing” performance issues, these are the latest numbers from another ~10 minute run of the Lowland Meadows

since the average only tells part of the story, here’s the total core utilsation, while the game was chugging along at 42 fps.
The Log is also full of errors and warnings like ”2026-01-23T06:01:14.998|E|13492||Trying to add a simulation with a null collider ref! Skipping for now, but please fix! (risenCaption_armorTorso_clothSimulation)”
When your own engine is telling you to “please fix!”, you really should take another look at what’s going wrong.

And my favourite: Couldn’t create a Convex Mesh from source mesh “pb_Mesh22199086(Clone)” within the maximum polygons limit (256). The partial hull will be used. Consider simplifying your mesh. Lazy deserialization triggered from unknown code-path. Please review the stack trace.
How can things be triggered from an unknown code path? This clearly needs investigating.

Edited once more, removing a bit of spice. I posted this reply earlier while being quite a bit upset about the still lacking performance.
*Added DataStore.7z link to the reply and updated Player.Log in the original post.
I’ll just keep adding examples of “what is even going on?” to this thread. Hopefully someday it’ll get the attention of somebody who can actually tell me what’s wrong with how the game runs on my system.
This rewards me with an whopping… 84 fps. And a nice PS1 aesthetic.
Does the game ACTUALLY change resolution, or is this just an Insta filter?
And before you ask yourself - yes, of course it still dips down below 30 in the Lowland Meadows.
I’m quite certain this can’t be an actual Game problem… this HAS to be on my end, right?
I’m having consistent hitching/stuttering problems. These are in specific locations around Sacrament and the worst appears to be around the Sunflowers near the Southern entrance. Here’s a video:
The hitching/stuttering can be replicated every single time to varying levels. I have found others with the same hardware as me experiencing the same problems, here:
Here are my PC specs:
GPU: 4090
CPU 9800x3D
RAM: 64GB (at 6600MHz)
SSD: Samsung 990 PRO
I am only playing at 1080p so my hardware should be more than enough to avoid these problems so this seems to be engine related (loading/unloading assets incorrectly?).
I have tried running this section at the lowest resolution/settings and the issues still appear. I have also tried running this section maxed out at 4k and the issues are identical. Which further adds to my theory that it’s engine related. I really hope these stutters can be ironed out, especially as Sacrament is the most heavily visited location in the game.
PresentMon shows consistent stutter spikes dropping frames to ~15-20 fps every ~half a sec at least in Sacra, sometimes it bleeds to other regions
It doesn’t look like it strains even 3080 that much, utilization and temp are not high at all, more like something that runs couple times a second and takes unexpectedly long, which hikes the frame time
Since the latest update, I’ve been experiencing consistent, silent windows crashes back to desktop.
Basic Hardware: Nvidia 4090, Intel i9-13900KF, 64 gigs of RAM. Windows 11 Pro.
Please find the mentioned log files for bug reporting here (Player.log, player-prev.log, crash files, and dxdiag): No_Rest_For_The_Wicked - Google Drive
These seem to occur effectively randomly, with increased frequency the more players are in the realm at the time. When it does occur, my character state is typically reset to the last point where the game saved. I’ve avoided losing most progress at this juncture by quitting to Main menu every few minutes to save the character’s state. The crash is not specific to any given location in game.
I’ve attempted validating the game files through steam, ensuring that administrator mode is toggled in the .exe’s compatibility settings. Neither option has produced any tangible changes in behavior. I’ve also attempted to move the application from my primary SSD to a different SSD, again with no reduction in crash frequency.
Windows event viewer does register an error for the NoRestForTheWicked application, under exception code 0xc0000409.
Post crashing, loading back into the same realm without switching realms will load me into a weird…. under the map space. It then crashes again within 15-20 seconds. Typically it’ll look something like this, changing depending on the area I was in:
