I have some updates. It seems to be crashing only when the bird boss is attacking while flying and hitting my character with the spikes spawned on the floor. As soon as my character should take damage it insta crash.
Tried it multiple times and game 100% crash if i get hit during the flying phase. I do have 105% all res so maybe something is wrong with the dmg calculation or something.

Hello everyone,
I want to start by saying that I absolutely love this game, it’s really incredible the work the studio has done and how it is coming together at this point.
Everything has been great so far except one thing: I have very frequent and random crashes and I cannot for the love of me figure out why.
To summarize, usually when I start a session (I play coop with a friend), I will have several crash instances after seconds of playing. The message every time: “Norestforthewicked.exe is not responding”. Every time I have to open the task manager, end the task and launch the game again.
What is weird is that sometimes (rarely unfortunately) I can play 1, 2, or even 3 hours without encountering issues. Sometimes it will be every 10 minutes, sometimes after 10 seconds of playing. I couldn’t identify a pattern.
At first it was happening a lot in the menus, then later on it stopped entirely and seemed to happen when I enter a new zone/sub-zone. At this point, I don’t really see a clear pattern, just that it happens and it’s always the same behavior: image freezing>black screen>return to windows.
I’m posting today because it really plagued my previous session, to the point I had to tell my friends that I was fed up and I will call it a day. I’m talking over 10-20 times in a row of crash within seconds>restart game>crash, etc.
Every hour would be viable, but every 10 seconds or even minutes is not manageable. This is why I decided to come here for help. I love the game so much I was even ready to change GPU just to be able to play it, but I’m not going to pull the trigger since I do not know if it will solve the problem or not.
System requirements:
MoBo: Gigabyte B650 gaming AX V2
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7800x3d
Ram: 32gb
GPU: AMD Radeon 7900 GRE
Storage: SSD NVMe

I will escalate this right away since you’ve tried already so many things.
I will also link this post: [Combined] Game runs unplayable bad. (Performance issue) - #62 by Silas-Inservio-Pax which has a few tips you haven’t tried maybe (like disabling any overlays, Steam overlay for example solved crashing for me).
Also one user reported that running Wallpaper Engine made him crash, if you have that active disable that and try again.

Hi Silas, thank you for your answer and for taking the issue seriously.
I already tried disabling the overlays (Discord and Steam), with no difference, I just forgot to add it to my initial post. I do not use Wallpaper Engine (except if it’s something turned on by default on Windows? Based on my research, it seems to not be the case).
I went through the post, it seems to be a different issue than mine, as the performance when the game works for me is spot on, with very less FPS drops. It’s just the crashes.
I’m hoping for improvement in the future, the game is really worth it. Please let me know if there is any lead to fix this issue. I will keep updating my initial post with all the things I tried.

I don’t remember the name of the hunt, but this is the screenshot of the targets.
The picture shows the place where the game crashed and one of the times it wasn’t in combat, just to provide more info.
Lately, it has been crashing randomly for me; it has happened quite a bit, especially in the Crucible.

I mean it shouldn’t happen for your specific case, anyway im just leaving this message here for no apparent reason hopefully.

It could have something to do with it, but a week ago it didn’t crash as much as it does now.

I don’t know if it has anything to do with that bounty, I just wanted to give all the context. Lately it happens to me constantly in the Crucible, the game just closes at any moment.
Right now the game does not close on the beach.

Hello everyone, since the update I haven’t been able to play the game, I have ryzen 5800x, 32gb ram and rtx 3080 ti, the problem is that as soon as I start the game in few minutes it just crashes my whole pc and restarts it, only happens in wicked and only started happening after the update. I tested lots of other games to made sure it wasn’t my PSU problem which is corsair ax860, please advise and help, I’ve tried all the basic troubleshooting methods, like reinstalling drivers, game and even windows. One thing I thought was causing it was ps5 controller but I tried playing without it and same issue, just blank restart of a pc.

Hey Silas, tried all of those suggestions above, I’m using a PC, I have a PS5 controller updated to the latest software. It’s clearly a bug that even shows up in the dumb file.
Seems like updating the BIOS solved the issue. I was on f38 and upgraded it to f40 and it seems to solved the problem.
