Weapons requirement issue/suggestion

Problem:

Weapons requiring higher stats, but not adding anything to the weapon itself.

First time when i was playing, i got a Shortbow, req 10 dexterity. Then later, i got the same one, with requirement 30+, but nothing changes. Weapons with higher requirements only asks for higher stat to be used, and i think that should be changed so weapons with higher requirements have higher base damage than the ones with low requirement, or having better enchantment stats, or something…

I do not see the point of having the same bow with 20+ requirement more and getting nothing out of it, just keeping points where i don’t want them to be, points which i can use for something else.

If i am missing something, and requirements have different stats, or something changes in favor of higher req weapons, please delete the post.

Until you meet the minimum required, you wont see the FULL STATS of said item.

Double stats scales more compared to mono stats.

Past that, bonus points increases a bit for each you add up.

Also, don’t worry about points, you can reset them in the crucible after you unlock the reset statue at chamber 5 of the first challenge.

I know about the Crucible statue. I know about weapon stats increasing with increased attribute. Have over 100 hours in game, so some basics i know.

I didn’t see the difference in stats with all requirements met. I will check it now again.

Double/mono stats? Can you explain more, since obviously i am missing something

I have seen weapons with double stats having a little more bonuses compared to the one that are mono stats.

At least, that was… how it was on the experimental version. I have yet to test out with THIS specific update.

I still am not sure what mono/double stats are, i probably overlooked that part, didn’t know it exists.

If higher req means stronger weapon, absolutely no issue. If it doesn’t, why do have req in the first place. Probably my mistake, will take a look into it, thanks.

double stats mean the item require TWO stats to full unlock the potential.
mono stat mean you need only one.

And as far i have seen, as said, the ones with 2 stats have a little higher stats, compared to the one that are mono stat.

It is on the item description. You can’t miss it. There are even symbols.

Ah, ok, i thought that was something else.

Yeah, i know about that. You meant mono/dual requirements, and i was thinking of stats ( damage, etc. ) on the weapon itself.

That is fine, but still, if mono req weapon has 10 req, and 30 req, no need to have the 30 one if it isn’t stronger than 10.

If i am not wrong, that is also based on the weapon level.

Does the requirements are the same at ALL levels.. or they change how they level up? I have to check that

I checked it, and both my bows ( with different req ) on level 12 have same damage. I may be wrong, i need to get in and check again.

I did play during beta a lot, and i think that was one of my main issues, but now, i need to confirm it

i believe the same weapons doesnt have any difference in Damage no matter the requirement but if you dont meet the requirement i believe that is enough to decrease your Damage but it will deal the same as your 10 when you have increased your stat to 30
(but i might be wrong)

This is a change they made (right before the breach i think) because ppl were complaining that the same weapons at max upgrade differed in Damage too much.

So they changed it and now we have weapons that doesnt scale properly..
everyone should be Happy Now Right?

(The change is connected to Weapon Crafting having too much RNG i would change it back if i could because you know i like RNG too much)

This doesn’t have anything with RNG.

it seems it is just arbitrary number, at the moment, the requirement.

Because it is, req 30, req 10, no difference, except i MUST add points to attribute to carry the weapon. It doesn’t make sense. If it is not doing anything, it should be removed then.

Just leave the requirement as some attribute, without number, and that’s basically the same. This ( example ) weapon needs intelligence, and that’s it.

Does the requirements increases with the weapon level? Because i don’t remember now if the number was fixed at all levels or it will goes up as you level up the weapon.

It didn’t. I also thought that is the case.

No im not talking about RNG :face_with_raised_eyebrow: Anyways here you have the two patches that i was refering to:

Weapon Scaling Rework

Prior to The Breach update, damage gained from weapon upgrades would add to damage gained from attributes. This meant that you could have a fully upgraded weapon with 0 attributes in the scaling stat for that weapon and it would still do good damage.”

Now, the damage from upgrades multiplies with the damage from attributes. This results in both attributes and weapon upgrades having a more equal responsibility in damage dealt.”

The Breach Hotfix
#1 Info

“For now we’ll remove the interval we have on weapons and armors. What that means is that if an item had a base value of 10, there was a 30% chance that the item could drop from 7-10. We wanted to remove this for quite some time and instead introduce ‘superior’ items at some point anyway, but given that people reported issues with weapon damage and armor, we decided that we’re changing this now already. With that, any weapon and armor you find will be exactly what the designer intended it to be

-EDIT: (Here im speaking with my own words again)
Atleast the Weapon attribute and Weapons base damage scaling isnt as “Random” as it used to be.
The Weapon Req has always had the same function but it gave the impression of there being a difference when it was more “Random” overall, so now its more clear atleast what you can expect from a the Req to equip the weapon, I also thought it was strange back then when the Breach update launched and before the Breach update aswell..

But dont worry the dev’s have said that they are gonna Rework the whole Attribute System or Remove it or whatever they decide to do. We will just have to wait and see what they decide and look for inputs when we get more info about it. :innocent:
