However you aren’t forced to have the required amount of points spent to equip a weapon anymore so you can atleast experiment and try the weapon.
You can equip any weapon without restrictions the only limiting factor is that the DMG is lower but you can still try the weapon to your hearts content.
Armors only have the lvl restrictions.
You dont have to respec your character to try a weapon?
It doesn’t seem very useful to test a weapon that turns out to be dysfunctional in combat because the stat points aren’t appropriate.
The only thing you gain from that is seeing the animations. You don’t know the damage, nor its effectiveness, and if you wanted to check it, surprise, respec is locked behind the Crucible
Testing the animations means alot because there are some weapons that you can’t animation cancel out from which can kill you unless they are timed correctly.
If you wanted to progress the story SURPRISE it’s locked behind Bosses.
How is this any different from unlocking respec in the crucible?
-Edit: At the moment it’s good as it is so let the devs work on their priorities and pick another time for these changes its good that you share your wishes but do so without putting pressure on them to fix it right away.
u can do that once you found your first fallen ember and a hand full of coppers. enchant said armor piece, use ember from inventrory, re-roll enchantment to “reduced weight” or “increased HP”. problem solved. that people even think they need respec to solve this problem is exactly the issue i have! respec does not help the players! it causes them to never really interact with or think about certain mechanics. sometimes humans need to be forced to think on their own about how they can solve a problem. if your problem is solved by throwing money in a machine, then u will never learn or understand what the actual problem was or how u could have solved it otherwise.
this “sometimes i want to change A tho and other times B” is exactly why i think this does NOT fit the overall theme of the game. Nobody ever said in a fromsoft game for example that they need to respec, or in monster hunter everyone is just fine with changing skills and stats with changing and upgrading armor pieces.
if u can just change everything at any time, you never have to actually make a choice. it make the whole leveling system completely obsolete. just remove all requirements from weapons, so everyone can use anything all at once.
i want choices to matter. besides. are u ever, like honestly ever really brooting and thinking about your build optimization when u just switch 3 stat points here and there. do u guys really think think that would help with understanding the importance of enchantment synergies, upgrade levels etc?
Simple: you can’t get stuck just because you don’t understand or experiment with the narrative thread of the story. If you’re not progressing in the story, the story itself isn’t the reason. In fact, maybe the reason you’re stuck in a boss fight is because the player has a poor stat distribution.
I know this is a forum, but it’s surprising how some people reply with nonsense using an arrogant tone
I didn’t respond with an arrogant tone but this is going to sound arrogant of me because you sound very arrogant by saying:
“I know this is a forum, but it’s surprising how some people reply with nonsense using an arrogant tone”
You talk like you deserve special treatment..
A funny thing to make of notice here tho is that I actually replied to You by mistake the reply was meant for someone else from the start but I’m not going to name any names.
It was a fun conversation so therefore I’m not going to apologize for my little mistake.
Make sure you help more ppl in the community as you’ve always done!
Well, the fact that I actually wasn’t the intended recipient of your response would explain why it seemed nonsensical to me.
Sorry if I was offensive. And whether with or without sarcasm, when I participate in the forum it’s with the intention of contributing something to the discussion (even if it has no impact, but I enjoy it)
I played for 350+hrs before the latest content update and I’m loving the new stuff.
The only thing that I don’t like is that you can’t respec.
I’ve put points somewhere stupid and there is no hope of completing the crucible to unlock respecs at my level.
It seems a pity that you can’t change your build before end-game, especially as there are so many nice weapons to try, which require stats in a specific spot.
You just have to get to npc at floor V. Just use a weapon that match that point allocation briefly. Or buy some level 1 weapon that have stat requirement at 10 and upgrade it - it won’t do godly damage, but it will be perfectly sufficient. There is also an echo that teleports you automatically to floor V.
alright, merged it to yours, since yours was the older one and had also some other ideas as well. wasn’t sure though because the other topic had more replies. anyways, it is what it is now lol
and depending on when the attribute system will be replaced, this whole thing likely will get obsolete anyways.
Im glad they go forward.
the build system right now, does the job, but feels boring and kinda locked to one setup.
its not versatile nor flexible in a fast paced playstyle
