Respecing is punishing for no reason in a PVE story game

Respecing costing embers, specifically “1 per 10” is just tedious for 0 reason. what if i want to respec 11, now i have to spend another ember for just 1 point? very counter-productive. make it cost 1 ember per respec full stop. or even better. like 3 or 5 silvers. Embers already do more than enough jobs. rerolling and creating enchantments and plagues

No need to change respec because attribute system is going to get replaced with a job/class system, so you wont even need to respec to use a different weapon :winking_face_with_tongue:

why is it that anything i see talked about is always “going to be replaced”?

i saw videos from over a year ago talking about the change in the class system. then a video from like a month or two ago saying that the change is hitting THAT month (dev talking btw). i was under the impression THIS is the new system. nope, everything always “going to be replaced”.

I’ve put 250 hours into this fabulous game but I don’t even have access to re-spec, as when trying 5 crucible floor runs, it’s cost me too much time and effort to even get there. I checked what the pitfalls were with re-speccing once you’ve got through the crucible, and decided it wasn’t worth the effort anyway.

We know it’s early access, we know it’s gonna change but in the meantime they’re still unnecessarily frustrating players with this whole re-speccing mess. I’ve just started two new characters, in a new realm, to get around this. Lot of grind though.

My personal problem with the Crucible is, it’s currently the only way to get re-spec in the game. I’ve tried it several times, being ultra cautious, and found it to be a waste of my time, because of rallianto’s point.

I get that some players want the skills test. I get all the points about reading enemies, adapting strategies etc. but rallianto’s point still stands. Too many chances of death due to too many instances of environment damage.

Just give us a way to access re-spec that isn’t the Crucible. Keep the Crucible for those players that thrive there and enjoy it. Simple.
