Quality of Life

I love the game so far so let me start by stating what I enjoy----

  • Top notch responsiveness

  • Off putting enemy attack timers is making the combat interactive and the game difficult which is great!

  • Massive variety of weapons/runes makes it fun to try different things (Although not being able to properly wield things due to respec costing embers is a pain)

  • The ART. ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING. (might even make some fan art if I can match the style)

  • The Grimdark vibe reminiscent of games like darkest dungeon is done really well and is really fitting for the games direction

  • The way upgrading works helps the player re-explore the world to gather materials and complete quests (The best part of this is it feels like these areas change depending on level/game progress)

Things I think need improvement (In my opinion)----

  • Resource collecting should feel more intentional rather than random. For instance a weapon needs 10 boar tusks to craft and I’ve only found 2-3 in 40+ hours of gameplay.

  • Item management - Players who have maxed resource/food slots should be able to have a stack of almost every type of material in the game in their inventory (Maybe the amount of variety can be consolidated or inventory can have more slots or stacks can be bigger?)

  • Built in loot filters? Don’t really want to pick up Tier 1 gear while in end game.

  • (If crucible is intended endgame) More crucible variety and making the resources here respawn per run. (Obviously its early access so variety comes with time)

TLDR: I mostly think it needs quality of life features - Item locking/Favoriting (So you don’t accidentally delete some) - Better inventory management (Consolidate the massive variety of materials) - less punishment’s for respec so we can try different builds - and as many difficult boss fights and content as they can fit in when the game gets released

Your 3rd & 4th bullet points confuse me.

  1. Tier 1 still has usage here unlike in other ARPGs. The only thing that makes a Tier 1 worse than a Tier 5000 weapon is just that you need to upgrade it with materials. If you think the moveset of this T1 weapon is the best, then you can carry it as long as you want. Plus there’s still T1 runes that are amazing. Loot filters could be useful but the reason you describe is an odd one

  2. Resources in Crucible do respawn per run, that birch tree does respawn every run so you can chop it down.

wait a second, you can chop in the crucible? man, why did i never notice. i invested 3 chars whole cash on buying birch planks lol

No tree has ever been choppable in my crucible runs. When did that happen?

Crucible, the Marin Woods mini-level with the treehouse like platforms. Before you climb up the vine, on the cliff to the left there’s a choppable tree @Chemile0n

Good to know this. I never saw it be choppable. Thanks!

Could you screenshot it here since I still don’t know the location ~~

I wasn’t aware tier 1 became just as strong as max tiers with upgrades, I just never wanted to go through that many resources without being sure about a weapon I guess.

In general its probably my personal opinion but I don’t want to see the gear I was picking up in the beginning of the game while in the endgame as random drops.

The birch tree in my crucible was not respawning, must have been a bug but its since been fixed not sure how or when.

Its on the left of the grassy crucible with the vines you have to climb after jumping on a rock.

The boars are not in the game yet, so you will have a hard time collecting materials from enemies that are not in the game yet, bears, boars, those bird vultures things that show up in some videos, and so on.

Infinite resource slots will defeat the need to have chests and containers inside your house, i think they will change the ichor upgrades though, god i hope they do i hate those upgrades, instead they could add those upgrades on the vendors, even tied to the vendors upgrades.

Crucible will be revamped next big patch, its cooking, let it cook hehehe.

Oh I didn’t know that was the case for the crafting materials - guess I just have to wait then!

I didn’t mean infinite - I just mean it feels too little due to the mass variety of materials but I get that its so the housing gets used more. Maybe the housing inventory can be easier to manage - like marking chests and pressing deposit all similar items or something? I really really like that we can use items from our chests while not near them.

Crucible is awesome! cant wait to see what they do with it!

Agreed, the housing inventory could be easier to manage, i loose crap all the time with so many chests around, maybe the containers there could be bigger.

Thanks for the feedback and QoL ideas, sent them to our devs!
