Quality of life/gameplay suggestions

Picked the game up a week ago and havent been able to put it down. I’ve already logged ~25 hours so far and these are some suggestions:

  1. Allow fast travel to the entrances of each main zone via “major whispers”. Keep the other whispers in each area as “minor whispers” that serve as checkpoints and can only be traveled to/from if they were the last whisper used. This would still encourage exploration/shortcuts but would cut back on a lot of the tedium of traveling between areas.

  2. Allow gem infusions to be destroyed. I used a fire gem on the corpse smeared blade not knowing that the fire infusion would remove the weapon’s innate plague buildup. Now the weapon’s abilities are completely useless. Allowing players to remove gems would prevent this from happening and allow more experimentation with different runes/infusions.

  3. Implement scrapping upgraded items for partial refund of resources. As it stands, it is very costly and time consuming to upgrade weapons/armor. Allowing players to scrap their prevously upgraded items for a partial refund of resources would encourage more experimentation with different weapons/weapon types while not trvializing the need to gather upgrade materials.

  4. Polish character pathing/fix camera. Pretty self explanatory and has probably been suggested many times. The traversal and camera is fine 80% of the time. But the 20% of the time that your character decides to leap to their death for no reason or the camera awkwardly zooms in/out is painful. I expect this likely something that can be polished with more playtesting.

  5. Implement passive resource gathering. Some ideas: Lumberyard for wood. Farm for secondary herbs/food items. Hunter/fishery for primary food items. Mine for ores, clay, coal, weapon, and armor shards. These could be unlocked via quests and could be upgraded by Danos. To not discourage active resource gathering, they would be time gated and not nearly as fast as active gathering, but would allow players who prefer not to spend as much time gathering an alternative means of collecting resources. Perhaps a money input requirement would help balance this out, and allow combat/loot oriented players to farm loot to sell/pay for passive gathering rather than gathering themselves.

+1 to the scrapping, I keep upgrading my early game armor and sell the newer/better ones as I can’t be bothered in gathering again all the resources for upgrading, maybe I’ll do later when I have plenty of things but during the early stages is much more efficient to stay with your gear than switching it.
