I think they might be thinking of souls, where there is a per-weapon parrying stat. I don’t think they borrowed that particular mechanic.
Well I just tested the parry nerf to shields and now my character and parrying just feels awful now. There is now ZERO benefit to using a shield over a ranged 1 handed bow now or using a big 2 hander good thing I have a Dex character with a 1 handed katana and bow for that samurai build. Hopefully they revert the parry change but until they do I guess I’m shelving my sword and board character for the time being.
I was also thinking that maybe they had that in mind. But I might be wrong since there is a fair amount of parrying bosst stats on gloves and weapons.
This is closer to Nioh 2 if u ask me.

There are small benefits but I think they should have left parrying as it was and leave it to players to decide if they wanna use a strong mechanic or not.
This is why we need regeming without destroying the item, I currently have health return on parry slotted into my gloves and now with this change I want to put Stamina return on parry, without regeming I need to try to farm up gloves with health return and then socket with the stamina gem.
Yeah I think they should add that feature.
