My suggestions for Crafting

Hey there Cerims,

After watching the latest interview Thomas did with Ziz, I see that Moon still isn’t too sure what the correct approach to crafting should be with wicked. So here’s my thoughts on the topic based on how the game already functions ;

Craft it all
Besides unique items, I do believe a blueprint should be obtainable for any weapon, ring, tools and armour sets. This would simply increase the value of gatherable resources, from wood, minerals to animal parts, inciting the player to interact with some of the more survival-y aspects of the game. How you would acquire said blueprints I leave to the Dev’s discretion, from needing to break down a specific item at NPC to turn it into a blueprint, randomly obtaining it in a chest or through some side quests.. Or maybe all of the above.

This would also help obtain multiple copies of items currently limited to a single daily purchase like vendor items. You would be greatly rewarded for having all the materials required to craft those items, creating dozens of hours of grinding for those who like this kind of stuff, I sure know my Grinding Goblin brain would love it.

Now, I do believe in drops being important beyond just resources, we all love these super rare drops that makes you go “Oh my god did I just get that!?” And such is why Uniques should remain as drops only.. And beyond that, I think Moon should look into Unique Runes that grants very powerful ultimate attacks, those would be loot only, and found very sparingly in the game’s hardest content. Things like the signature move of certain bosses and so on.

Overall; I think a nice balance can be found for Crafting/Looting, but to enhance the immersion of the game and encourage players to explore the world and interact with a maximum amount of features, I do hope they push Crafting into prominence.

But what do you guys think? What would be the ideal state of crafting for y’all? Let’s give some feedback to the dev team and help them achieve this perfect game status Wicked deserves to reach.

My take is that It would be cool if white gear had some kind of “Innate” bonus depending on the gear type and these can be randomized. You can only obtain these through drops randomly, but then the enchantment affixes are craftable. I think that’d add a layer of depth to the game.

I talk about it on my post if you wanna check it out here

Innate set bonuses will be added later on. Wearing a full set or multiple parts of it will grant attributes, Thomas voiced this a few times, although I wouldn’t be expecting it in a near future.

If we only get Set bonuses or Weight set bonuses as well, we shall see.
