Hello everyone, I’ve been playing the game since the release of early access ( i have around 275 hours) and though I have been really enjoying the overall game I think crafting, and specifically gear crafting is not really useful right now, specially while leveling.
in a few bulletpoints here are my main issues.
- there are too few accessible recipes through the leveling process (mostly from vendors)
*except for fashion there’s not really an advantage to crafting your own gear vs buying it from a vendor or using random loot. - even if you find blueprints early by getting lucky with drops, crafting materials were too scarce (I only managed to get enough deer feet to craft a piece of lvl 6 armor by the time I was farming the echo knight)
- even if you get to craft a piece of gear, the random nature of enchantments means you can ruin a crafted piece of gear and getting something you want often takes longer than just waiting for a vendor or trying to farm the item.
*even if you manage to craft a piece of gear and get lucky with the enchant now you have to spend even more resources to get it to be on par with the stuff that will most likely be dropping normally.
So Id like to propose some small ideas on how I think crafting could be made to feel more useful and engaging while hopefully also help lower the item hoarding issue.
*let me add certain enchanting resource when crafting items to be able to influence its type of enchantment( I don’t mean specific affixes but something along the line of being able to choose if an item is rare or plagued)
*let me add upgrade items right during the crafting to bump the level of the crafted item.
*let me DISMANTLE items. dismantled items could be used to obtain some crafting/enchanting resources
*let me learn item blueprints by dismantling a certain number of them. this could become a super useful way of “hoarding” weapons in your blueprints book instead of hoarding weapons in chests in case you want to change your build or fashion one day.
Anyway those are my 2 cents I hope the devs give it a look!
