Level Requirements Must Go

Can anyone confirm that the level requirements for gear are going to change and or be removed once Combat 2.0 happens? I’m so tired of finding gear I can’t use. It’s infuriating! Every time I fight a big guy, and I get something I can’t use it’s like the game personally wants to punish me for doing something above and beyond my station.

Look I get you want to reward players randomly with good old fashioned RGN but you need a different system to allow players to use better weapons than level requirements. Please someone confirm that this is going by the wayside once 2.0 combat happens. I might just go back to Arc Raiders till this is changed. With 300 hours plus in the game the only thing I can add to the discussion is how annoyed I am with the gear system’s requirements taking me out of the immersive world.

Edit. I need to clarify why this doesn’t work for me. I have over 2k hours in Elden Ring and they require weapons to be different levels. Why this worked for me is I knew where to find the weapons. I knew how to level up to get it. I could plan my run. In NRFTW I cannot do any of this. The Randomly generated weapons and armor are fine. But because I cannot use them, they are useless. Also, because If I craft a weapon and its level is suddenly higher because I crafted it, I can’t equip it like I planned. If I had found the same weapon at level 1 of my character, I could have just upgraded that weapon and it would retain the same level, but if I craft it at a higher level the same item becomes uselsess to me. This is immersion breaking.

I think it would have made sense if the devs had replaced strength, dexterity, intelligence and faith with “damage” as a temporary change, so at least we could have enjoyed the game a bit more in Early Access.

I think requirements should go up with leveling weapon.

So, every weapon you craft has 10 req, and then you go from there, makes much more sense.

For now, i don’t see the difference between req 10 and req 30+ weapons. I may be missing something, but those weapons at same level have exactly the same damage.

Exactly this. It’s immersion breaking. They recently talked about how they didn’t want to make bosses sponge enemies for multiplayer and so they made them more complicated the more players there were. Similar they shouldn’t lock armor behind levels but should let the leveling speak for the player. Heavy armor? No problem, I leveled my weight requirements.
