Ive been a huge fan of this game for months now, and an idea has come to mind:
- Now as a disclaimer, this is just a suggestion. I do hope this idea goes far enough to make waves.
So i suggest a three tiered system of abilities:
Tier 1 “Stamina”:
- your basic abilities with low risk, based on stamina, such as punch, swing, block, shoot, dodge, parry. The basics. Earns focus.
Tier 2 “Focus”:
- Your more advanced abilities, as enabled by focus based runes, ex. cone shot, fire whirlwind, eruption, or my underrated favourite lightning flurry.
Tier 3 “Blood”:
- High risk abilities, as would be enabled by “health based” runes. In addition to costing health, cooldown time could be implemented in order to bring balance to the game. Oh, and one more thing, if you don’t have enough health to execute said abilities your character dies… (High Risk = High Reward / Damage). Examples could be as follows:
- Channel:
- Character drains health for focus
- This rune already exists and technically fits this category
- Maybe change it to make the amount of health you lose for focus more variable. Ex. charging the ability for more focus exchange.
- Blood Link:
- Character drains 50% of their life to take 25% of their surrounding enemies life. most efficient against 2 or more enemies.
- Good in combination with a build that consists of high armour, low health points, high health generation, and a fast attack rate in combo with life-steal.
- Blood Bomb:
- Character drains a number of their health points, say 100 hp for example, to do equivalent number of damage points of damage their surrounding enemies. Most efficient against 2 or more enemies.
- Good in combination with a build that consists of high health points, and a fast attack rate in combo with life-steal
- Blood Arrow
- Character puts some health points into the arrow for significantly more damage.
- Could be a nice finishing shot.
- Blood Rush
- Character spends some health points on a nice temporary overall speed boost.
- Channel:
- And the list of potential goes on and on and on. I can see limitless build ideas that could come out of this aspect.
- So the attack plan could be as such:
- Put down some basic attacks using stamina, earning focus.
- Use focus to trigger advanced abilities, stagger and weaken your enemy
- Use the newly suggested “Blood Rune” idea to then finish your opponent, or if your opponent is already defeated, use “Channel” or “Blood Rush” or anything of similar nature to prep for your next fight!
- Lots can be had from this idea. I hope the community supports my idea and the team then implements this in the best way possible in which they see fit. Could make for some amazing gameplay clips, funny and serious.
