I’m not looking for advice, I bought the game in early access and I’m expressing an opinion. I wonder what the point of creating a boss like the Crucible one is. A boss divided into 2 phases, in the first phase the boss has a lot, a lot, a lot of health and deals a lot of damage, in the second phase the boss has even more health, much more, too much and deals even more damage with a senseless mobility, attacks for kilometers, infinite aoe etc etc. (I killed the boss twice.)
But what’s the point? I should grind forever to look for the ring, that armor, that buff for the build I read on the internet to do more damage and to do the boss. I think it’s a ridiculous choice. Indeed, I think it’s just stealing a bad idea from FROM software, nothing else. We need to come up with new ideas, we should, not copy the worst.
Stalking for activity
wow someone went to secret agent academy
if the devs don’t reply, maybe rename the topic
I missed the toxic user’s comment. Anyway, I also wrote that I’m not looking for advice. The only purpose of this post is the hope, an end in itself, that a dev will read it. What do I want to achieve? Nothing, just to let you know the above. Thanks again for the inevitable toxic comment.
tbh yesterday reached lvl 28, i didnt beat the crucible yet but im reaching a point that the stuff that drops vs whats needed for doing a perfect run its prety insane, so maybe the point is to place the game aside to go play other things while the E.A. evolves and come back dunno.
not really toxic, just letting you know that you’re not a special snowflake and dont get priority and that everybody can see what you wrote.
We’ve all been there, we all did it, it’s just nice and fun to see that someone actually tries it this way again. works, every once in a while
I feel like I missed something here…
I like the boss, if you put your attributes into the right thing, all the other bosses become pretty easy and you can beat them first try. But Cyvion adds a new challenge that requires grinding better gear and weapons, as well as using Seneschal to exalt your gear, to beat. This also incentivizes collecting resources and completing building projects to get those upgrades.
Having multiple phases isn’t uncommon and it switches up how you attack the boss, giving some variety, instead of continuing to to the same thing for twice as long. You also get rewarded after from his loot drop as well as five chests.
Here is the lore: Crucible fall of edges needs to be removed
Starts at comment 12 and then to almost the end.
eco goes down in less than 14 seconds with multiple builds (there are videos from 3hit on youtube) but if you don’t want advice I find it right to complain about how difficult it is to kill him even if in reality it is a joke
Those builds are outliers though and need to be nerfed 100%. So I wouldn’t say that killing the Echo Knight is a joke. But, that those weapons/builds/runes make it a joke.
you really think they design a boss like that with 2 phases to die in 14 seconds due a “mech/stats” wtv abuse ?
killing a boss in 14 seconds, what a excellent pure gameplay
mission accomplish, excellent re-play ability.
i wonder how much in those videos (off the record) they exploited the vendor day, even i already did it and i felt like was the only way to get something out of the hours of grinding and getting nothing plausible “to work on”
and just for the record, I have 300 hours in the game, I haven’t abused any exploits and to kill the eco knight in 14 seconds you don’t need to have perfect gear and it can be done with at least more than twenty builds
well lets compare chess with checkers, they are both board games so they are the same xD
leonardo forget about it u didnt understood my point and the conversation is just escalating
I think it’s a great boss. Only thing I hate about it is that invisible aoe attack. I need to see a wave I can dodge/jump or something.
they said they took inspiration from Diablo 2, then if it reminds you more of a Souls because the early game which lasts a couple of hours is more difficult than the end game it’s just your problem as I already said… but let’s say you you’re right, today the eco knight for you is a boss with a 3/5 minute fight… when the sixth level of the crucible comes out will the boss have a 20/25 minute fight? and then with the tier 6 items and the level cap at most how much do you think you can kill the eco knight???
Count to 5 then dodge, use a rune with I-frames or kill him in a corner and run to the opposite end - be far enough away from the impact.
It is NOT just his problem, many others also think this. There is a reason it sparked many discussions on the forum as well as one of the largest and most upvoted topics on the forum.
→ [Moon Studio] What is the intended experience?
TLDR of the post: dissonance between the early game Soulslike elements vs the late game ARPG elements regarding combat. Which is preferred?
To simply state it is his problem is both foolish and shortsighted.
I would argue that in both cases it is chess, except that the builds that kill the Echo Knight in 2-5 minutes are those that obey the rules and etiquette of regular chess. Whereas the 14 second builds are akin to someone swiping all the opponents pieces of the board and declaring themselves the winner. Since it requires the same amount of skill…
If people want to play in such a manner they can do so, but then they shouldn’t talk about it as if its some kind of achievement or that it requires skill…
This is what Moon should aim for as a bench mark to be honest. The ‘‘best’’ builds clear it in 3 min whereas other builds can clear it in 5 minutes. There is no reason for builds to exist that kill the Echo Knight in under 2 min, in my opinion. The Soulslike elements from the game should remain in place with regard to bossfights - methodical and tactical combat. Whereas fighting trash mobs should feel like an ARPG.
think that there is also a segment of people much bigger than you who complain because the game is too difficult even at the beginning, who complained about the pre-patch eco knight without ever having even managed to kill him (imagine now), someone he even complained about the plague doctor (lol), that they should remove the food countdown, that they should eliminate deaths due to falls and I could go on for hours… if they have to follow all the nonsense that is written they can directly trash the game.
i think that is not what we are referring to, in this thread at least.
