No change in behavior with hotfix 4. Red orb in the upper right, no realm ever appears. If I go offline on steam no issues. I am in US West,
Yes, still the same problem after Hotfix #4, unfortunately.

Small update – with a little patience it does finally work. If I hit Continue and then just sit there for about 5 minutes, it eventually does connect and can play as normal.

To be clear, my issue is also an inability to join my own local realm.

I’m in France an I have the same problem. Game is launching but I’m stuck at “acces to the realm”. I’ve try to desinstall/reinstall and others tips I found online (except the vpn thing) but nothing work. Hope it ll be fix soon !

Try to click the “Steam” menu in the upper left corner and click “Go Offline …”
This should also be a temporary solution for a local realm to work.

Hi Michael, let’s unpack this.
Can your son try the “continue from last whisper” option in the Realms tab?
For you, could you try to connect with the shared Realm via VPN?

I am experiencing the same problem here as everyone else, I am online when I open the game, but as soon as I click continue or trey to join a real, either nothing happens and the red sphere appears or I am stuck endlessly in “entering realm” and that is for a local realm

I’ve bought the game and checked every day and spent 60 minutes just seeing if it would work, i’ve been experiencing the same thing all these users have been experiencing. Unable to join realms and then when i try to refresh and join a different realm it’s stuck on preparing realm. When might this issue be fixed, with the next patch or? Thank you.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to just close this topic as solved!!
It would be kind of be the same thing to as to say that the VPN and Steam offline also was the solution - pretty weird I must say.
And why was it that a newly created character will show in the log as FileNotFoundException?
Have the development team come any closer to a real solution? Or will this topic now be ignored?

This issue is not officially patched. Nor is the topic closed (you were able to comment here as you can see ).
The reason I set the solution is this:
I added the last 2 words just now for extra clarification, sorry about that!
My guess is that Moon’s in-house fix for this will come with Patch 1, but that is not yet here.
