any background processes that eat up your bandwidth?
you can check that while the game is running in the “resource monitor” on windows 10 or 11. And expand the Network tab. if the tips down below doesnt work ^^
You can always try plugging your into a different port on your router.
Run the command: netsh winsock reset in CMD (Admin) to reset the network stack.
and netsh int ip reset
then Restart PC
oh one last step to try is running the game as Admin..
NP! Yes i hope so too
before i go what OS are you running?
i just saw that Windows currently have alot of issues reported atm just maybe you can find a fix for the problem there. it can Very well be No Rest For The Wicked where the problem is located but also Windows xD
Hey there, I saw a Reddit Forum post that did the following:
created new character > created new realm > joined new realm with new character > ping was fixed
I can’t find the Reddit Forum post right now, but later he added that he joined the new realm with the old character. After he did that the old realm was fixed too.
But that post was a little older if I remember correctly.
However if your case matches the linked High Ping/Bad latency case that @askan94 linked, I can confirm that using a VPN solved my Problem.
There are still a few unanswered questions that might help
Did you try to create a new realm → share it → join it with the new character and the old character?
Do you also have a high ping while noone else except you is connected?
Are you playing on the same network (same LAN network)
If you are one the same Network. Did you try to use VPN on both machines? (Make sure the VPN actually works by checking your public IP Address)
Did you try disconnecting and reconnecting again multiple times? Did that change anything on your latency? Because another post stated, that this could help.
Make sure that you or your friends dont use cheats/trainers/mods/hacks/similar programs etc. or have them active in background even if they are used for other games.
it can cause high ping/disconnect/lag for other players.
I however dont think this is the case for You, but i leave it here as a reminder to other people
A few additional things to try, even though I don’t believe they will help much:
Are your network card drivers up to date?
Are Steam games updating automatically while you play?
Who is your internet service provider? Some French ISPs have a ping setting in the router’s administration interface (Free, for example).
Fiber or ADSL?
Specific tweaks on UDP connections (Firewall / IDP / etc) ?
You could add a firewall exception for the game, but I think other people would have had the same problem and this solution would have been discussed (and since I don’t have Windows to test it, I’m not sure if it would make any difference).
Let’s not forget that it could also be a server issue, in which case you wouldn’t be the only one experiencing the problem. @Silas-Inservio-Pax , I know you don’t work at Moon, but do you know who hosts the servers? Is it a cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, or GCP?
Some friends bought the game and I was able to do more tests.
If I create a game and put it online, I get the same bugs!
(with a new or an old character)
When joining other people’s games (other than my first friends who plays) I also get this bug :')
so @askan94 So the hypothesis that my friend was using cheats/trainers/mods/hacks/similar programs etc. is ruled out because the guys from yesterday had just installed the game :')
@Silas-Inservio-Pax Hello !
This 2 dude is amazing i comfirmed xD
That’s the weird part…It’s only this game where I have this problem
Nop, i desactivated the way he updating when i play
My internet provider is “Bouygues Telecom”
I try to go on Administration Interface but it was always “down” and they tell me that the page is unattainable
I’ve got ADSL
Hummm…I don’t know? The game is adding specificaly on my firewall and for the IDP i don’t know what is
PS : Hey ! Vraiment pas si loin je suis pas loin de Saint-Malo
Hm at this point I am almost out of ideas. Just throwing in stuff that might be helpfull, but have you tried clearing your DNS cache?
To do that:
Open cmd.exe > Type “ipconfig /flushdns” (without ")
Also check your startup Apps in Taskmanager.
Set all apps that you do not need to deactivated.
(Try as many as possible you can active them later if you need them)
After you did that restart your pc and try again.
