[Combined] Stuttering every 10 sec on one realm

On one of my realms I experience stuttering roughly every 10 secs - frame freezes. It is reproducible by just logging onto the realm with any character. Logging with same character on different realms is fine. I’ve done file verification on Steam, changed settings, restarted game and PC, nothing helped.

Seems issue has been resolved - I uninstalled Microsoft Game Input, it was duplicated on my machine, and realm seems to work fine so far.

thanks. i also have windows 10 but i dont even have it in apps. i see the process starting but its not in the apps settings.

i will try the other steps cause for me its not working, its super annoying.

i also dont get why it would only affect one realm even if it is this microsoft service.

hopefully i can also find a fix soon.

Hello, I’ve encountered a serious issue that only affects one specific realm in my game. In this realm, I’ve already completed the campaign 100% and most of the shops are nearly fully upgraded, but whenever I enter it, everything runs extremely slowly and with a noticeable delay.

The whole world seems to be in slow motion (enemies, animations, projectiles, and even my character’s actions are desynced). Some enemies don’t play their attack animations at all but still deal damage if I get close; others start casting spells or shooting projectiles, but the effects happen several seconds later.

Projectiles move with heavy delay, and overall, combat feels completely out of sync. My character is also heavily affected: when I try to run, it looks like I’m running in place, barely moving forward, and dodge rolls often get interrupted or don’t complete properly.

The issue seems to be entirely tied to this specific realm, because if I use my main character and create a new realm, everything works perfectly fine. Likewise, if I switch to another character and enter the problematic realm, the same slowdown occurs again. This leads me to believe that the problem is not related to the character or general save data, but to this particular realm instance itself.

To assist with troubleshooting, I’ve attached my Player.log, Player-prev.log, and DxDiag files: LINK

I’ve also uploaded a video showing the issue in detail to the official Discord server: LINK

thanks for the report and adding your logfiles. i moved this here to the existing topic. can you maybe try the fix further above? Stuttering every 10 sec on one realm - #2 by veleslav27

maybe this helps you with your realm as well

Wonderful!

I tried this:

Top Ways to Fix Microsoft GameInput Service Errors

1. Stop and Restart the GameInput Service

A classic troubleshooting technique, restarting the service can often provide swift relief to crashes:

  • Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.

  • Type services.msc and hit Enter.

  • Scroll down to GameInput Service.

  • Right-click on it and select Stop. Wait a moment, then right-click again and choose Start.

And it worked! I don’t know why or how

Thanks

This topic will from this day forward act as Main for the specific bug “performance issues/stutters/freeze in 1 particular Realm but not others”.

I am facing the same issues in my older, full open realm. I started it when Breach was introduced so not so “obsolete”.
I have Windows 11 with GameInput Service disabled. I tried the game with GameInput ON/OFF and no difference. That realm is still laggy.

Another solved case by this fix, but slightly different symptoms. arclor crashed very frequently instead of it only being containted to stutter and freezes.
