Downloading and installing the beta was fine. The game boots up just fine, I just can’t start any new games (single-player). When I first try it, I just get the screen “Entering Realm” and nothing else happens, even after waiting for a minute or so. So I push the back button and it takes me back to the home screen and the game is now offline. Selecting “Reconnect” does nothing. If I try to resume a new game, I get the same screen although it now says “Creating Realms”. Still nothing happens after this point. Eirik, did anything improve after the 2 patches so far?
Hi. Surprisingly I have the same issue. cant connect to the realm. Looks like server issue (internet provider).
Please try this for everyone with this particular issue:

I’ve tried this multiple times, but switching between builds doesn’t fix the issue at all. Can you only have one build installed at a time? Still the same situation after both patches. Probably can’t play the beta until it’s finally released officially later in January. 
Your issue will most likely be solved by using a VPN. Try different locations with one, if nothing works try another VPN.

I don’t see how this would affect my situation, though, since I’ve been trying to just start a single-player game. No co-op or multiplayer…
Unfortunately, the game requires an internet connection (the reason for this is another matter entirely). Without it, world creation is impossible. Using a VPN is recommended, as your internet service provider may block access to the game server, a common issue for many players (especially those in Russia).
I’ve always played with an internet connection, plus I’m in the US. Just tried using a VPN and that didn’t work either, so definitely something wrong with the game’s software. Still get the same entering realm screen with music playing in the background, but nothing happens. It’s the same scenario as I originally described.

have eventually worked for everybody with this issue. (VPN usage like I first recommended is a last resort).
Could you try these steps again, in that order?
Can you also let me know if you everyone on Live is still okay?

I’m just going to wait until the Co-op update becomes official, don’t have time to keep switching between downloading the live and beta versions for something that might not work anyway. Still, I love this game and have put over 1500 hours into it, thanks for everything! Looking forward to what comes next.
