Camera should lead in the direction of Player movement and targetting

As suggested by the title, I think the game would benefit a lot if the camera was in front of the player according to the direction they were moving or just facing. This will help with seeing targets above or below the screen as well as help with not running off ledges to your death. When exploring particularly south, the camera is really felt cutting off what I might be running into. The best position to be in during combat is with enemies either to side or above you, it’s otherwise hard to gauge what’s happening below you, so I’m often needing to maneuver into these positions.
