You probably want to change freezing on bosses

I hate having to ask to nerf my squishy mage build, I won’t enjoy getting smacked for tons of damage, but chain freezing bosses feels broken.

Freezing mobs feels fine, there are many of them so crowd control feels fair.

But I was thinking with bosses instead of freezing them solid, just apply a 50% attack speed debuff and make them take double or triple poise damage while chilled.

Alternative, instead of poise damage increase, make chilled bosses just attack slower and hit for 25-30% less damage.

It just feels too easy to freeze a boss, do an attack sequence to fill up focus, and then freeze them again as soon as they come out.

Additionally, allow frost infused weapons to benefit from the shatter bonus, and since many if not most staves can’t do charged attacks, please tune the shatter bonus for staves or let shatter apply to rune attacks as well.

I agree, after i started using cold infused weapon boss fights just become regular encounter similar to other mobs where you just freeze until you win. I think either increasing bosses resistance to freeze buildup by 2 times (maybe even 3 with some adjustments for different spells and weapons) or simply remove it on bosses and change to some strong debuff.

I’d rather the latter because if freeze build up takes way too long to the point where you never freeze them because it decays whenever you’re not hitting the boss, which is often if you actually have to do mechanics, it will feel like a useless infusion on bosses.

So I prefer the debuff model where it feels still like a substantial benefit without taking away from the encounter choreography. You feel the impact of a significantly slowed and debuffed boss, whether they take more pose damage to stagger more easily or they deal notably less damage so you can play more aggressively. The infusion feels powerful but not broken.
