World quests for new players

I noticed some new World Quests since the Refined update which I think or not ideal for new comers.
I’m not asking to make the game easier, I just want it to make more sense.

During the first hours of gameplay, new players will probably take on this World Quest in the Orban Glades where you have to face “big guy” on the small stone arena in the middle of the water. At this point, players don’t have a lot of stamina or damage and they are still learning the patterns as well as the parry windows. I don’t see the point of smashing new players with one big guy and one fast little creature on a small island at the same time.
It just makes no sense during the learning / discovery process.

I would even say the same for higher level players. World Quests where we have to face 3, 4 or even 5 ennemies at the same time just turn into a Food/Dodge - fest which is 0 fun (“Of a feather” is a good example).
Quantity doesn’t make quality.
One or two big guys with clean and punishing patterns is all we ask for.

Honestly I don’t think it’s a terrible early quest since there’s multiple duo bosses in the campaign. It’s good practice and an optional side challenge they don’t have to do.

I would disagree on one point here.

“A side Quest they don’t have to do”

New players, especially casual ones, will take on any challenges / quests that is offered to them at the beginning of the experience. They will just follow anything “shiny” and feel betrayed if it’s too brutal for no reason.

On this particular quest, it will be the first time they face a monster that big ! Also, the said monster will probably start fighting as they are still trying to get out of the water (terrible experience). So again, I see no reason to add that little annoying monster on the side and call it “good practice”.

(Big guy standing alone in the middle of the platform also looks way better in my opinion ! It doesn’t need a companion to look scary)

I will end my answer with a reminder. We also have, at the same time a quest called “Within our walls” that takes us into the meeting room. This quest, on the other hand is absolutely perfect.

You can fight one of those guys on the first night if you go into the forest by the 2nd whisper you get to.

All in all, I wouldn’t care either way but I don’t think it’s a big deal. Elden Ring does the same thing, if not harder, by having the Tree Sentinel right by the entrance to the open world.
