Wicked Inside first impressions

I really like how they implemented multiplayer (but we already knew that)

The only thing we discovered is that to revive your allies you have to spend health and that the friendly fire is very low and therefore being hit by the allies is more of a slight annoyance because of the staggerer than anything else

I like the change to vendors

In late game vendors become useless and even before they are not very interesting, now they make much more sense in the context of this game, an example of how to use RNG correctly.

We finally have the Compendium!

And I am very happy that the bestiary will be added too.
There should be spoiler free in game wiki in every RPG.

I really like the changes to the bows

In the video however they seem to do too little damage (but I have to check better) and I really like the addition of the quiver.

The research table looks Perfect!

I hope they also fixed the recipes to be more fun.

I’m curious about new & big Gems

I hope that building with gems is now at a more similar level of strength to enchantments and that there are more options (but I have a feeling that this is not the case).

Mixed feeling on Crits

I don’t know if they make sense, I’d prefer to have the option to have them if we make a build that uses them, not to have them automatically.

Facets are cool, but it’s RNG

Facets are essentially the same concept as the Balanced Gems I proposed in this topic: The RNG Problem, Enchantment System Vs Gem System (Refined) along with a lot of other changers.

And I’m very happy that they added them but they’re not gems, so you can’t equip them to your liking.

I hope it is possible to find the one you are looking for (and on the weapon you are looking) in a resonable time (but It doesn’t seem likely to me).

The Enchanting system

The Enchanting system seems to have a lot of new cool effects, but RNG will be even worse.

And you won’t be able to customize the gear as you want because there are limited rerolls, in a way it improves the experience since you don’t have to spam rerolls but we can’t make builds as we want them (without grinding for centuries).

The new exaltation it’s even more RNG on top of the The enchanting system.

Thomas said: “items that are really your own“ not yours as “you can customize your builds” but in the sense that no two items are the same xD, You can only decide what to choose from the options that RNG gives you, you don’t build your own based on your preferences.

Also here is My Topic on Additions that were not explicitly stated in the Wicked Inside if you are interested.

My impressions are actually the exact same

Coop = Looks awesome
Change to vendors = Awesome
Compendium = Awesome
New bows = Awesome
Research table = Awesome
Critical on weapons = Don’t know yet, have to try it, but mixed because of the RNG
Facets = On the surface cool, but amplifies the RNG problem
Enchanting reroll cap = Not a fan
New exaltation = Mixed, I’m okay with some RNG in this final stage to make it truly unique, but too many already RNG to make it here in the first place

Many of these RNG things could be fixed, if we still had a path to reach our desired build.

this game should be named “no rest for the RNG”
