Don’t get me wrong I love the 1st big patch it has many improvements
But since certain materials were already rarer than hens’ teeth not being able to buy at least some of them from vendors is going to be a big problem.
For instance every single upgrade for a piece of level 3 armor I need 10 silver bars. I think it’s about 30 to 40(!) bars per item to get it fully upgraded.
I know of exactly one or two silver veins in the whole game I can farm from time to time when they are not depleted of course.
Now if you are like me you play different characters who collect and use different armor sets and this means it’s gonna take an absolute fuck ton of time to upgrade your armors this way!
I might be missing something very obvious here, but if not WTH Moon?!
Before the patch it just felt pointless to even bother collecting that silver cos u can just buy it cheap. I guess it was changed for that reason. I might be masochist but best upgrade (for now) should take some time not to just buy it and poof done.
That’s just because silver is rare in the starter area. There’s materials in the game that are very scarce because we don’t yet have access to areas where these can be farmed. I don’t think this is an oversight. Rather, there’s a lot of content that just hasn’t been released yet.
I’m guessing with new areas in 1.0 or later with the full game release it will be easyer to farm silver, but my worries are that the ingame currency just become meaningless, all there is to use it on is buy armor upgrades if your lucky or ingredients for food and potions, all other vendors seems useless now and theres only the refining part of them that is important witch is free (dont get any ideas devs!)
I liked having to play around with the currency of the game aswell, creating choices and playing around them. Should I upgrade or wait, do I have enough or should I power through, now theres just “farm and you’ll get there.”
I hope they bring it back, but maybe up the price cause its nice to have it on hand incase you’re missing a few mats for upgrades or crafting and then the ingame currency comes in to play, “I could buy what im missing”.
Also would help with the full game realese as replayablity comes in to play, as a reward for finishing the game your next charater will have an easyer time as it can start with fully upgraded gear without the need to farm for hours and make the boring early game faster as you’ve grown custum to end game.
The last bits of improvement should always be hard anyways.
Thats the curve of improvement/learning. Squeezing out the last little bit of improvement often takes longer than the time to come to that point. Like in real life.
For sure the devs asked for our feedbacks, so this is what we do. Some of us are more patients than others, but our feedbaks help to improve the game for the majority of us. I also am in a similar situation with soft leather.
I will take the time to craft it, and i’m fine with it, but i think for many players this amount of patience might get frustrating so i put it here.
For my character to upgrade lv3 each of his 4 leather piece, i need 160 soft leather, and it need tanning from a raw material that not many enemies drop, and they don’t drop it often, plus the tanning time also huge (but again, i’m alright with it, i do something else while it’s happening, but again, not everybody will have the patience for that).
I’ll just drop a poll in case we can get an interresting result, but i’ll post it apart with a title as neutral as possible.
Edit : correction in the amount of leather pieces needed.
I think it’s great that they’re giving meaning to crafting and upgrading. Tier 3 is end game atm and it’s just right that it takes time to progress.
As content is released so will farm nodes improve, but you should always expect highest tier, giving you an edge over current enemies, to be something you need to work for. Not just trivially buy it up.
