Unsocketing Gems and Runes

Hi everyone! First of all Im a big fan. And while I enjoying my playthrough I love to try some random builds and rune combinations but current socketing system feels so punishing since we can’t unsocket gems and runes (socketed runes I mean) from any item. My suggestion is that it should be extractable for socketed ones and for the default ones it should without breaking the item, we can pay for it just like we do when we socketing them. I don’t know if there is an ongoing process about this topic haven’t heard/seen from any interview or topic yet if so my bad. Have a great one!

Agreed on trying stuff.

I think a system no different than the current runes would be great.

I wouldn’t hate them being completely extractable for a cost at all. however, based on the rune system I venture they want us to pay some price for using them. Not the end of the world, just feels like part of learning the game.

Yah you have a good point there actually and I would tolerate that “break to get” mindset if there was a kinda target farm system in the game I mean don’t get me wrong I’m not fan of target farming it makes everything so automated and brain-dead, my intention here is more like for example for certain item types we could kill some sertain mobs even maybe those mobs would relocate on the map each time we use whispers etc. to make it worth more and it would add a little fun to chase them. This way it would be easier to get the item (so inderctly the rune) we want. Cuz’ now when we look the item pool the rng is huge to get certain items in the world.

Yeah, eh.. Like I can empathize with wanting a deterministic way to get them, it’s hard to say. Like anytime a game has gear, people will want to get “good” gear. And if you’re working on a build, again you want your items to reflect your build.

That said you can slap on any old enchanted gear and make your way through the story. Toss some embers in it when you stockpile enough to try and get something ideal for your set up.

They can feel very impactful no doubt, but also not a requirement so as long as you’re actively acquiring them at a good rate at some point you come back to your home chest and it’s full of good stuff for your to play with.

Like, it’s not as if not finding a spike will prevent someone from progressing but they sure are nice to find. With the limited number of items [in the game] they do feel nice when you snag what you’re looking for, and that’s a nice feeling.

It feels like for a really proper build it just takes a time investment. Given how much more story there is to go it’ll be something to keep an eye on as the game grows. [And I can’t fault Moon for wanting us to explore and spend time in the world when it’s as nice as it is, ya know.]

One thing that seems to help me keep up on resources it making sure to set aside time between story missions to do supply runs around the map. Which can be nice to do something in the world outside of just hack’in enemies.
