Can you give us an options to unslot gems from our items, even if it’s at a very very high cost. It just sucks to lose an Item you’ve poured your heart into over one simple mistake of selecting the wrong gem.
I was hoping once they add higher tiers we could “chip” them on removal but at least keep it still.
Would be even better to just keep them but then tney would have to have the gems % attached instead of random rolls i think
Gems could still be % if removing them was attached to, say, an endgame item you need to farm. If a gem could be removed by means of an item you only get after beating the Echo Knight, you could more confidently gamble your good weapon with a gem
Theres few varibles to consider because if you can just pop em off an on. You essentially will always get max rolls so wheres the fun in that. The flip to that is the gem itself rolls and keeps the roll so chipped saphire 6/10 60% effective (because depending where you put it depends what it does) this would work because then no matter how much you remove it you cant reroll it and it will eventually get replaced which is fine.
Then the third option i can think of is chipping down a tier on removal this is a “punishment” for wanting to remove a gem but if you wanted to reroll you could at a cost. you could in essence roll till max but you would need to farm multiple multiple gems to do so and if someone is playing the game that long, why not they earned it right? This would allow the casual gamers to reroll there fav weapon a couple times to just get better on a bad roll or 2 can incentize going back to mining spots for possible rerolls among many other variables i feel would be good for the game.
Honestly, I’d like to see the ability to just replace existing gems even if it destroys the old one completely.
I guess that does mean you could just keep trying until you get a good roll on the gem’s effects, but
- You have to farm for the gems in the first place, which limits how much you could abuse it, and
- I think the randomness of gem and enchantment effects should be either drastically reduced or eliminated anyway.
I think we should get tons of different ways of item customization, however always with a price.
- remove rune from item (expensive if both are kept)
- remove gem from item (expensive if both are kept)
- remove any enchantments
- use item X with perk Y, on item Z to get item Z with perk Y.
- use item X with perk Y, on item Z with perk X to improve X on Z
- change order of runes (maybe free)
- simple enchant (get enchanted item with random perks)
- special enchant (get enchanted item with one defined perk, but also a curse)
- change enchant (re-roll single perk of enchanted item)
- remove curse (high price)
- change curse (low price)
- re-roll base stats
But this is not something i expect already in EA, because it is a lot of work to balance this.
Also i think we dont have all merchants yet.
