Time locked mechanics

For the love of god remove these from the game, or add benches everywhere I can sit down on to pass the time, or some in game mechanic to move time forward.

Locking fast travel to the last rested bonfire is fine, but when I’m having to check back to see if my 6 ores finished smelting, and run south to collect a few more, it makes the game grind to a halt. It’s single player. Why am I possibly waiting 20 minutes to smelt ore?

It’s single player for now. It’ll be multiplayer after the next major update. I can’t see them making more work for themselves by removing features just to put them back in the next big update.
