i also think there should not be transmogs
200% there should be transmog.
The gear is already randomized so there is a very high chance that you will never find a good piece for an armor you like the look of.
Additionally, you can really tell that the team put loads of effort behind the design and art of each piece so there should be a way to utilize this.
The game will also gain a massive amount of replaybility with a transmog system.
We definitely need one.
You are allowed to NOT interact with the transmog system if you don’t like it, but it definitely should be in the game.
It won’t affect you in the slightest.
300% there shouldnt be one in my opinion.
I don’t get the “there shouldn’t be transmog” people. It doesn’t affect them and they don’t have to use it, so why don’t they want other people to have it?
I do not want transmog for one reason or another. End of discussion. Stop trying yo convince me that it is the “greater good” if they add transmog. I do not care. Transmog should not exist because I do not want it to exist.
Ok, but no one has answered yet.
You are allowed to never interact with it, so what does it matter if it exists?
there is a better way doing this, add blueprints for armorsets to drop randomly from chest, bosses and enemies.
after you get blueprint you can craft the specific armorset and edit affixes the way you like to make it strong as any other, upgrading vendor already give armorsets to buy, could add more as we proggress.
boss armorset could be unique to give setbonuses and made way cooler/unique looking than normal armor.
some armor should always be rare to find.
This is way worse in the sense that this is unbalanceable.
If you edit the affixes then everyone will use that armor, obviously.
some armor should always be rare to find.
Transmog system doesn’t affect this in the slightest. It’s an extra way of me showing off my hard earned armor set without sacrificing my build.
I do not want transmog in this game. Just like how there is no transmog in Dark Souls/Elden Ring. There shouldn’t be any here for the same reasons there isn’t transmog in those games.
actually no, if there is variety between armorsets (weight, setbonuses) then people will use different types for a reason, with transmogmechanic people use the coolest one and end up more reqularly looking the same.
the game already works the way i said (white armor drops and vendor sets) but the bad side is that you cannot edit the armor you find so if you are not super lucky you end up loosing the armor.
if you could always edit/reroll armor affixes or always buy the spesific armorset from vendor you could always keep playing with the cooles armor you find.
it only needs a pit of work to get new armorset but that is the fun part.
Oh, I can? Please tell me how I can play using the armor appearance I want without losing the stats of the armor that is higher level with far superior numbers.
@Chaplin “I do not care” sums up everything about your position; you don’t care about other people’s experiences, I agree. You only want people to play the game the way you want it played, even if the system implemented could be completely ignored on your end.
You can upgrade every gear to the same “item level”. There you go Elly.
You can not reroll stats. Rolled bad stats? Go farm for that rare mats to make that armor again, or good luck having it drop again.
There’s an incentive for you to craft said armor piece and socket it instead of rolling if you are in love with it.
Make it a story unlock. We get homes after a story event, maybe a story event around upgrading the town, finding a new NPC, etc.
I’m sorry, this does not work for me. Why should players be limited in this way where they have to choose between enjoying the appearance they like in a state where the gear is much less potent than it could be, or risking rolling a crappy cursed item and basically having to toss the item altogether? Some of which, mind you, that require incredibly rare mats to construct, so it’s not like these are easy appearances to obtain.
I understand your point. But still wouldn’t want transmog in the game, sorry.
I want all medias surrounding this game be WYSIWYG. So when I see a screenshot posted I dont have to guess what a player is wearing.
My problem with this is now everyone will end looking exactly the same towards end-game. So WYSIWYG ends up stifling player expression massively for players like myself who enjoy customizing our character’s appearances.
It seems we’ll just have to agree to disagree on this, but thank you for the civil conversation.
It’s really interesting to me how fired up people are getting about being against transmog! When I made this post, I figured people who’d like a transmog option would simply like the post or reply with their support of the idea. Didn’t anticipate some people being strongly against it. Not a bad thing, I just find it kind of fascinating. I still maintain the position that an optional feature hurts no one and those who don’t want to use transmog could easily ignore it. So, I really don’t see how it would be problematic, but I guess some people still feel it would be.
To be clear, I’m not saying we should be able to make daggers look like a Claymore or a bow look like an axe. That would be ridiculous. I’m just saying that it would be nice, for example, to change my headpiece to look like any other headpiece I own. I also don’t think players should be able to change a headpiece to look like any other headpiece in the game, just the ones their character already has.
