The one big almighty Transmog topic

I would love to see that too!

A friend of mine and I were talking once again about transmog system. And came up with an idea like in Enshrouded, where you have a secondary equipment screen, where you put in the armor only for the looks, this would also still mean we would need to get the look we want first.

The biggest problem with the usual transmog is, that you can’t estimate the armor of your opponent in PvP. But with this system, they could disable the secondary equipment screen completely so you would see only the real armor

During the first podcasts and leaks Thomas said several times that trasmog could be implemented if community really asks for it. Now that the game development has advanced a lot we should ask for it.

Lets make this post big so we could enjoy transmog in near future.

What kind of rules do you think would be necesary? i.e only transmog between the same armor type, no weapons transmog, no transmog on legendary items, etc…

Do you think transmog could affect the overall gameplay balance? Why?

How to increase fun by implementing transmog so it won’t be just a bland feature? Maybe with a special quest or item? Limited transmog on each item?

Just participate here and vote to show devs we want it.

Yes, finding cool armor is a kind of reward and it would be a shame to compromise this aspect of the game.

I think that rather than changing the appearance of the Armor, it should be possible to transfer all the effects including the facets from one armor to another (essentially transmog in reverse).

It might be unlockable via the crucible, and it should have a low or non-existent cost, given that in the end it is only an aesthetic change.

Essentially two pieces of armor of the same type are offered (helmet - helmet) and all effects are exchanged, even the level of the item is exchanged.

This could solve the problem with a simple to understand system that can be accessed from the beginning of the game, giving players the freedom to dress what they want with the best effects they have found.

Just have an appearance tab that you select armor types and put them in a slot that overrides your appearance.

The only restriction would be that armor types must match, or transmog is disabled in PvP for the sweats who care about that nonsense format in a game that cannot possibly have balanced PvP unless you put in fixed stat templates and rune sets while in a PvP area.

Transmog is a good system. Could be an endgame goal to unlock like many similar games did

Posting just to add to the “petition.” I agree with everything you said, word for word.

I was quite surprised it was not already in game, especially because there are so many unique stylised sets that make no sense visually when randomly mix and matched.

More Upvotes, considering the recent discount and spike in popularity i really want this because armors are kool in this game the best ones i’ve atm are straight out of “Last of us” fungal infection virus zombie. Knight armors are so cool.

I would like to reopen the transmog topic. I recently posted a thread about resources, which is closely related to this issue. Since facets were introduced, the situation has become even worse. I wanted to obtain a specific hat, so I crafted 23 of them using all the materials I had, but not a single one rolled with the desired facet. In the end, I sold all of them and gave up.

Achieving the desired look on a character is even more challenging than getting the desired enchantments.

Proposed to add a gem like fire Infusion to the crafting materials to increase the chance to get fire infusion facet.

It could be like his, or by introducing deterministic crafting — adding a gem to guarantee that the item rolls with the related facet.

Gems are rare enough already, don’t need to waste gems that you’re lucky to get 2-3 of in 40 hours of play just to mitigate bad design with facets.

If you use Fantasy Life i: as an example, they have a cool system to mitigate RNG.

Basically, there are stickers you can use when crafting/recrafting an item to increase the probability of modifiers (e.g. 70% chance to rol a specific facet).

I think even something like Terraria’s Goblin Tinkerer reforge/reroll would be sick considering we don’t have any effective money sinks,

i use mods bc i respect my time unlike devs

So about the problem I read with transmog where it takes away the experience/level of the person wearing it. (so for example, I’m a noob but I have endgame looking armour). I haven’t read everything so idk if this was mentioned already, but why not use the same discovery system the game already has for crafting but instead just apply to customization. maybe not weapons though but I’m not sure. for example if I got to a certain point I’d also have the transmog peices that I’ve found so far up to that point and use. hence I’d still look like a noob because all of my armour has the transmog of the starting area but at least I still look good enought to be satisfied with my “paper doll” until I start finding more advanced gear.

suggestion

As what I’ve heard from my years of playing destiny 2 before I stopped

“Fashion is the true end game.”

Idea

What about transferring all properties from one item to another? Certain conditions could apply—for example, the destination item must be completely clean. This would give white items, which have no properties, a meaningful use.

YES, I totally agree. I suggested the same thing here: The one big almighty Transmog topic - #280 by Zenith

This just crossed my mind on the fly, and no I didn’t research to see if it’s been said, though I know for sure transmog has been brought up, almost guaranteed. But hear me out lol.

At end game, the way I’ve started playing recently is gearing into “BiS” gear on whatever item drops with the facet I’m looking for. The only thing I’m concerned about is if it’s the same type of gear. Cloth, leather, mesh, or plate. But when it’s all said and done, now I’m tacky asl

With that being said, in order to not be tacky, I’d have to manage to roll a matching set with all the right facets on all the right pieces. That’ll be an absolute pain.

Which brought me to this post.

What if there was an ember (or other item) that made us able to transfer all stats (including the facet) to a common, non facet, item. That way we could craft the gear we wanted, and as long as it’s a “base” piece then it can be used to transfer the current gear’s stats over, making sets more doable? And should I decide to change my transmog , then just make new bases and get more of the item (or gold???)

Because having a decked out piece and having to reroll the stats as well as the exalts for the simple desire to match seems…not worth it…for lack of any single word to put there.
