Idk if it would change something in the gameplay other than being fair to all areas of the game that aren’t close to town … but i feel like one you got a whisper it would be great to be able to just select the whisper you want to travel to when in town at least. If you discovered it previously. Be able to have a drop down and go straight to mariners keep to do the crab bounty rather than walking the whole path then tele back town and select nameless pass furthest wp and go do the boss.
100% in a game that wants you to go around previous maps “a lot” it becomes a bit annoying to backtrack constantly
I would already be okey with the wisps in the world just warping you back to town but there should be the option to then warp to any wisps around the map
Current wisps feel slightly useless depending on where you have to go next your last wisp may be on the complete other side of the map
A system I thought of earlier is to have two different types of whispers. Lesser/dull whispers, which would act similar to the current system. You can use them to teleport back to town, and use the town whisper to return to the last one.
In addition to those, there would be greater whispers. These would be limited to one per zone, with some zones—like the shallows—having none. Once activated, greater whispers can be used to travel to town or to other greater whispers. A greater whisper would still take up the “return to last whisper” slot.
An idea that I thought about for fast travel that I posted about prior was:
“A workaround to the whispers could involve treating them like a train network, with the whisper in Sacrament acting as the hub. This would facilitate travel between all whispers on the map. To preserve the original concept of strategic choice, which I believe was the intention behind limiting travel to the last whisper and to Sacrament, other whispers could allow for travel to other nearby whispers.”
I also defo like the idea about having whispers have “value” with some being greater and allowing for further travel.
