Tattoo system suggestion
Runes are great for weapon enchantments, gems for clothing and weapons. Nothing for the character proper
What if at some stage, we need to tattoo the character as part of their progression or levelling?
Tattoos that boost healing from some new environmental element, faster health/stam /focus regen?
Faith tattoos would be over the heart and focus on healing
Intelligence, would be head / face and give berserker spells
Strength would be torso,
Dex would be limbs
Size of the tattoo would effect how much it affects your faith / dex/int or strength. Some dex would mean faster movement or attack speed as example.
What if tattoos powered the person to give their weapons a new affect? Faith tattoo plus fire enchantment equals healing flame?
Some new future region would require the person to undergo an awakening and the tattoos are part of the process?

In a way your ideas are already implemented In the New Class System except that classes are implemented through weapons and are not an integral part of the character. In any case, I don’t see much point in adding tattoos unless it’s to improve the character’s appearance.
We already have a lot of ways to give ourselves buffs: armor, weapons, rings and now even class-specific abilities. Considering that enchantments still need to be improved (these are my ideas to improve the system: The RNG Problem, Enchantment System Vs Gem System (Major Edits)), even if your idea is nice I don’t think it’s good for this game.

I still think your idea might work and allow more character customization! Just detached from the attributes, but excellent ideas so far!
