Hi!
I have some additional suggestions for the combat/job system in addition to those already voiced by Thomas.
What if we change current rune system in weapons so that each skill could be learned and used in the future with any other suitable weapon with its long-term use by the character. (a similar system was in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake).
I think the use of learned runes can be similar to the new rune utility system (which should appear soon)
The runes/skills themselves could also be added to the compendium system, with a preview animation and sorting/grouping by suitable weapon type. (or something similar to the current system with learned recipes). In the system itself, only study/learned skills should be displayed, the rest can be completely hidden or closed with a question mark “?”. (to open a rune/skill in the compendium, you need to use it at least once)
As a result, this should increase interest in more searching and crafting weapons, because people love
a) gathering - a personal large library of learned runes/skills
b) a more flexible combat system and customization of used skills, the only question is the number of active access slots in the skill wheel, perhaps 4 or 6 will be enough
I also heard that the developers do not want to add a set system for equipment, because it may add restrictions to the selection of equipment for players.
I also have a suggestion here - make a set of bonuses only on clothes/armor, and the bonuses themselves will be given for a set of 2 and 4 items. A very similar system is now used in several arpg games (like Genshin Impact, ZZZ) and it seems to me that it can be a good fit.
As a result, we can have the opportunity to assemble a set of 2+2 weaker bonuses, or a set of 4 but with a stronger buff.
The buff and bonuses themselves can be easily tied to the appearance/theme of the set. If such equipment is on the enemy, then can be taken as a basis the enemy’s features/his combat/resistance.
Thank you for your attention, I will be glad to see your support or if you want to add something.
