I know and respect that Moon made beautiful and successful platforming games and that Iona’s Cave is probably simple for folks who play and enjoy these types of games. Unfortunately, I’ve been an avid gamer since the late 1970’s (yes, really), but have never enjoyed platforming, don’t play these games and consequently am terrible at it. I’ll try an Elden Ring boss 100 times if necessary because I enjoy the combat; repeatedly failing doing something I’ve never enjoyed doing in Iona’s Cave is beyond frustrating. Would it be possible to return the player to the point right before falling and dying rather than the save point at the beginning of the challenge? This would eliminate the tedium of having to run through the entire sequence up to the fail point over and over again. It would also make it easier to learn how to succeed at the jump (and improve platforming skills in general) by letting the player instantly retry alternative approaches. Perhaps this feature could be toggled on/off at the player’s discretion so skilled players don’t have to put up with beginner-level training wheels. I am loving Wicked thus far but my lack of skill in this area has me close to leaving it behind with regrets. Of course, if I’m the only one who is so bad at this, it isn’t worth the dev’s time to give a helping hand.
