This game looks an awful lot like a mobile game. the post on twitter, the whole UI, the grinding and waiting for crafts/buildings to finish, or vendors to reroll their sale. (And dont get me started on finley, that diablo 4 affix parody of a vendor). all look like a big “don’t you guys have phones?!” is going to happen eventually and i’d rather wish that resources are being used on make the best possible experience on pc and consoles instead of forcing all those mechanics down a far inferior mobile pipeline.
It’s hard enough to make a game for pc and consoles. Mobile would probably too much to handle and too much of a bottleneck.
What about the performance issues? we have that on gaming RIGS. mobile is not gonna handle that stuff. how is that gonna happen?
And with all that room for improvement, the EA and the incredible community i think we can do a lot if we just focus on pc /consoles
I was wondering if it could be worse following this discussion but it seems that tragedy can have no rest (No Rest For The Tragedy ).
I 100% agree with @Stinkerbolle: the resources would be way more well suited if they were allocated and dedicated only to pc and consoles players(For now. Maybe …).
I have nothing about multiplatform games with mobile support, I think there is market for it, but, yet, I can’t think of any game that I played, and I enjoyed, that has done it successfully.
I feel like the waiting for buildings to finish construction is definitely something a mobile game would have. I have experienced timers in other games, such as in State of Decay 2, where buildings take time to construct. Personally, I am fine with them including the timer and not removing it outright; however, State of Decay 2 handled it better. In that game, building construction times ranged from 6 to 48 minutes depending on the structure, and there was even a building that could speed up the process. So, while I appreciate the concept of timers, I believe they could be better balanced here, and perhaps a way to speed up the construction process could be introduced.
One notable difference was that build time was also influenced by morale and other factors to mitigate the tedious nature.
i think what the try to achieve here is realism when it comes to building stuff, some games do it differently such as proggression instead of time. i dont think they will add microtransactions to boost buildingtimes if they decide to release this game in mobiles.
mobile release is more population for the game and i think it can be achieved since it already run very good with 8 to 10 years old pc (like me) and some gamingphones nowadays are good.
They already said no to MTX, that wouldn’t be the purpose for a mobile port.
The only good thing currently with the build times is that atleast the time goes down whilst you aren’t playing, I feel like people would be reacting to it alot more if that wasn’t the case.
I sadly can’t think that it can’t be without being at the expense of the other platforms …
The control and reactivity you can have with a controller or a keyboard and a mouse is far superior to what you can have with a mobile device.
I don’t think it is debatable.
And we all know how precise the game requires you to be (At least early game).
This excludes the few who own external controller-like devices to stick to their mobile devices.
Which means that either it is going to be playable poorly with a mobile device because the interface is not suited for it.
Or, it is going to degrade the other platforms experience because they have to match mobile devices weaknesses.
