Permanently Offline

I also just experienced this. I’m permanently offline and it won’t let me see any of my existing realms.

Verifying game integrity didn’t do anything. Tried switching the game to crucible_legacy mode and clicking the “Update” button but that eventually just fails to update too:

Game is basically borked for me in this state.

I’m very sorry man, I understand!

@wondernuts if you both keep an eye on Patch 1. That will hit in a few weeks I think (no eta) and it might include the fix for this problem!

Hope you can one day enjoy the game without all these bugs :see_no_evil_monkey:

I’ve been trying to play online since the first day of the game and I can’t. It seems my user account is LOCKED and I can’t create or share kingdoms, nor can I join shared kingdoms. I’ve tried everything possible, now I’ve deleted everything – my character, my world – and I still can’t. Here are the requested details.

Follow link with the files above

Just a reminder for myself. People eligible for this topic can connect to their own local Realm, but not shared ones and have a banner that reminds them they are offline.

If you cannot enter both local and shared Realms, please add your account of things here: [Combined] Stuck at "Entering Realm"

Hey Claudio,

You cannot enter your own local Realms either?

What is happening for you when you create a Realm?

Silas

Hi Silas

I can only create local realms. When I create an online world or try to connect to another player’s online world, I get a disconnection message. I even went so far as to delete everything and start from scratch, but I had no success.

Message “Attempting To Reconnect“ aways.

Can you help me? It´s possible to play online?

Hi Silas

I tried all possibilities that you suggestion in your link but not working. When I try to play the mode online not working. I delete my char and my realm, Right now I’m left with nothing, like I’m starting the game and it still doesn’t work. I’m disappointed with the game in this regard. I love this game, I spend hours and hours playing and farming, and I don’t understand why they can’t fix this.

Please help me.

Just have to wait right now Claudio! Fixes are coming with the next patch, which will land in a couple weeks presumably.

You will have to enjoy the game solo in your local Realms for now, sorry :flexed_biceps:

I got it to work, I claimed a refund from Steam, and bought a new game.

Could it be possible that games keys are replicated?

Hello team,

I am facing an issue where I cannot join my friends realm, and cannot share my own with them. The game is showing me as OFFLINE and pressing the reconnect button fails immediately. I’ve looked at the Player.log and Player-prev.log and shows that it cannot resolve the hostname for prod.gatekeeper.norestforthewickedbackend.net. The only fix I found was to run the game as admin through going to the installed files and right-clicking the game.exe file → properties → Compatibility and checking the run as administrator option.

I’m sure that it’s something with my setup, as my other friend who bought the game with me did not face this issue. I’ve left some more details down below.

Network Connection Failure - Requires Administrator Privileges
Game Version: Build 26973
Issue: Game fails to connect to authentication servers when launched normally from Steam client.
Error Details:

  1. Disabled Windows Defender Firewall

  2. Disabled third-party antivirus (Malwarebytes)

  3. Changed DNS to Cloudflare (1.1.1.1/1.0.0.1)

  4. Flushed DNS cache (ipconfig /flushdns)

  5. Verified hosts file has no blocking entries

  6. Verified domains accessible in browser (returns 403 Forbidden as expected)

    Workaround Found:
Configuring the executable to “Run this program as an administrator” in Compatibility settings resolves the issue completely.

Expected Behavior: Game should connect to servers when launched normally from Steam without requiring elevated privileges.

Actual Behavior: Game only connects when run with administrator privileges.
    Additional Notes:

  • Steam is running normally and user is online

  • System DNS resolution works correctly (tested with nslookup and browser)

  • The issue appears to be specific to how the game handles network requests when not elevated

screen captures and log files can be found here

I only started the game and played for maybe 3 hours, but so far enjoying the game a lot, just wish I could play with my friends

Thank you for all of the hard work you put into this game

Interesting, thanks for going the extra mile with such extensive testing as well mialajmi!

I will let Moon know about this.

Can you also give us access to the files you shared?

To do so:

  • Right click the folder/files → share → share (again) → set “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” and permission on “Viewer”

Thank you!

Silas

I am unable to connect to online services unless the game is launched immediately after a restart. Pressing the “Reconnect” button does not resolve this issue. Launching the game in the legacy version does appear to allow me to connect as usual, but obviously I would like to play the most recent build.

Fixes tried:

Reinstall, verify game files, update drivers, restart pc, restart router/modem, allowed game access through firewall.

Thank you in advance!

I ran into this issue and after a bit of testing, was able to get the online function to work only with a HDD. When the game is installed on either an M.2 or an SSD the online function is unavailable.

After moving the game file, I had to verify file integrity and it works.

You can Check these two just in case if you would ever get the same problem for other games in the future

Check in BIOS, that your PCIe/M.2 ports are not set to an extreme power saving mode.

Check settings in Windows, Go to Power Options > Change advanced power settings > PCI Express > Link State Power Management and set it to Off.

I played online with a computer on the same home network and one that is in another state. As of a week ago it worked but now the game says that I am offline and trying to reconnecting doesn’t do anything.

I have tried restarting and am in the process of switching to the crucible_legacy version (which takes nearly an hour to download ).

If that doesn’t work I will try the other things that have been suggested on here (such as elevated privileges).

I’m guessing it has something to do with the local network since the other computer (with a different steam account) is having the same issue but my friend in another state is not.

I think I am having the same issue as @mialajmi but will post logs when I can. Here is an error line from my logs:
Exception Thrown: "System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: An error occurred while sending the request —> System.Net.WebException: Error: NameResolutionFailure
