I tried a host of different things:

  • Switching to crucible
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling
  • Switching drives
  • Flushing the DNS
  • Restarting our modem
  • Running as an Admin
  • Updating to the latest patch

None of it worked.

I have an internet filter and tried turning it off. I didn’t expect it to work because I didn’t make any changes between when it was working and when it wasn’t. Also, the site was reachable outside of the game. Glad to report that turning off the filter worked. Don’t love that is the solution though. Why would NRFTW be flagged as dangerous? What changed late Feb that made it stop working?

If you still want my logs I can get them uploaded (with the filter on and with it off).

We have tried everything and read every fourum. We got to play together for about 30 minutes. Then their ping spiked to over 2000 and they couldn’t do anything and ever since have not been able to go online. We have.

  1. verified game files.
  2. took down their firewall.
  3. ran as administrator.
  4. switched the server to the old one and back to the new one to “wake up” their account.
  5. restarted steam restarted everything.
  6. restarted the router. (i don’t know how to flush dns)
  7. deleted the game and redownloaded it on the boot drive with all of the above and nothing has worked

Now they still can not access online at all.
We live in West aus.
any support is appreciated.

UPDATE: We flushed the DNS. Still not working.

it seems nothing to be unusual on this 7th day of play - unless we play from ru so we have different protocols of connection day by day nowadays. I used VPN and sucessfully got online status.

Same issue. Tried suggested options with no success. It went to permanent offline after a multiplayer session.

Linux, Proton Experimental/GE/EM.

If needed, i’ll attach Player.logs and DataStore.

Player.log has some recurring red lines:

Silas’s post on reddit resolved the issue for me. My mistake was to run VPN as system proxy, not as TUN.

Hi! Me & my 2 friends bought the game to play together. For me all working fine, but for my friends showing always offline in right top corner. Nothing helps. They tried all a/m solutions, but nothing works. Im living in different country and i can get online status via connecting from my friend acc. but them cant get online even using vpn

Your friends have also tried with a VPN?

What happens if they switch up the location in the realm tab?

Offline just happened to me. I tired verify files and also switching between legacy and public.

Using a VPN worked for me. Realm came right up and I was able to join. Hope this helps others.
