Performance worse after patch #2 [FIXED]

Was hoping DLSS would give the final push towards a fluent experience, but my experience is worse now.
Stutters and lags, frame-drops constantly. Seems specifically worse when traversing, and objects pops into existence as I move.
I can play Lies Of P with all settings on high with fluent 60fps no lags or stutters, same goes for Elden Ring. But this game lags a lot and have a lot of pop-ins.
My setup is:
Laptop Lenovo Legion 5
Intel(R) Core™ i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
16,0 GB (ram)
SSD 1TB (harddisk)
GeForce RTX 2060

Edit: And I have the newest Nvidia driver installed

try to bencmark your pc in the game using rivatunestatistic or similar to see where the problem might be and try to fix that at your end. if nothing works then it might be in the game. i have no issues with nvidia gpu that is 8y old (1070 ti)

it feels like CPU and RAM are more a bottleneck here/with this game than GPU. But you can’t change much there when playing on a Laptop unfortunately.

My 1080 is doing pretty fine as well. I wish we could turn off particle effects tho. Fire bombs and rain still heavily eat up frames.

I strongly feel the game is bottlenecked somehow, as mentioned, I can run multiple new games at smooth 60fps, but Wicked really struggles. I know it’s early access and things like this is to be expected, but I really think they should prioritize this issue, also because if they want lots of people to play the game, majority of people don’t have high end gaming pc’s. Only a handful of people can really enjoy this game.

I know that the graphic looks preatty cool and less details. But the reality Is that’s not so. The graphic Is very manufacturing so maybe that’s the problema.

i think this is the case too since i have 13gen i3 processor, similar thing was with the dragon dogma 2 where i didnt have as mutch fps drop what some people with stronger gpu’s had since the game was heavy for cpu, so older generation cpu might not work as good as the newest.

Some users on the Discord found a fix that works for me!
This fix counters the performance down-grades from patch #2, making the game play as good as it did on patch #1. But now I can also feel the extra boost from DLSS, which is sweet.

For me the fix was:
Go → Nvidia control panel > Manage 3d settings → System fallback → Off/No

Turn off the system fallback. It does not work for everybody, but a good amount of people report FPS/stutter issues greatly improve.

There is also a full list of tweaks you can try:
Nvidia control panel > manage 3d settings

  • Anisotropic filtering: (application controlled)
  • Power management mode: (max performance)
  • Sysmem fallback (IMPORTANT) : No/OFF
  • Texture filtering : (Quality, not high quality)
  • Texture filtering optimizations (all of them) : (enabled)
  • Low latency mode : (off)
  • shader cache size : (unlimited)

Nvidia inspector tweaks:

  • force enable (rebar)

  • Nvidia quality upscaling : (off)

  • negative LOD bias : (allow)

  • Virtual reality pre rendered frames : (use the 3d application setting)

  • Page file > set 64gb page file for each drive (It should be at minimum the size of your ram or larger)

  • Win32priorityseparation (google the reg value) = set to decimal value of 40 over the default of 2, applies instantly, all stuttering disappears instantly.

These tweaks were posted by “yerts” on the official Discord.
