I start by saying that I love the game and that I am happy to see one of my favourite studios working so hard on the game (I have a Kuro feather tattoo!).
Only problem, I’ve noticed that after patch 1 the performance has more than halved (I can’t keep 45fps at ultra quality now) in the city it’s become almost unplayable.
I’m running with an RTX 3080, a 5800X3D and 32gb of Ram at 3000mhz frequency, before the patch I didn’t have great performance problems (indeed, the hotfixes had improved it significantly)
I’m running with 4090 FE & 14900k & 64Gigs of RAM, before Patch1 the only stutter I’ve EVER had is on the ramp to the nameless pass(the ramp right before the big bridge leading to the Whisper).
Now I’m experiencing more little stutters here and there, it’s not gettitng to the point where it’s annoying, but it does give me a performance downgrade feeling.
Upvoted - stutters are much more common now and in more places. Leaving Sacrament to The Nameless Pass was the only area before this Patch where it was always happening but now happening in Orban Glades, The Shallows and still present entering The Nameless Pass.
same here, it got a lot more unstable everywhere, and now some sections like the bridge to sacrament from warrick’s fight dont load fast enough for me to see that theyre unloaded
IDK, I may be talking non sense, but be sure that the memory is completely clean from previous versions… restart the PC, wait for the game to properly load, stable environment and do the new tests…
First time I ran this patch, the game was a lot better in main city but a felt some stutter in initial maps that were not there before… that was weird.
After a restart, the game showed much more smoothing and no stutter found at that same areas… it got overall better, finally.
i have an RTX 3060 and after the patch my fps have dropped to 10/20 making the game unplayable in some cases… wrote a couple of threads. Hope that next time the release a ‘performance’ patch that does exactly what it says and not the opposite.
after the first hotfix on the performance I started have loading problems with the background texture when i go from Sacrament to the two different areas… now it takes like 10/15 seconds for the background to load.
The fps thing is worrying me ALOT how can a last gen pc not even reach 50 fps. There are some serious issues here that need to be addressed. I’ve played games that are alot more grafic intensive and had 80/90 fps and here i reach 20 after last patch… what can i say? hire a new grafic technician
Same feedback about stutter but overall permormance seems to be better for fire animatios and other effects that before patch cause frame rate drops (Ryzen 7700, 32GB, RX580, NvME)
Stutters / large frame hangtimes are crazy after Hotfix 3. Before I only had “zone loading” stutter - but now, in meadows, its stutter hell in some areas. I’m capped at 120fps, but it “hangs” and goes down to only 115fps (which shouldn’t give these stutters with G-Sync), so there is some “world loading” issues going on.
When its stuttering at 115-120fps something is wrong. Hotfix 2 was totally fine.
I bought No Rest for the Wicked a few months before the “The Breach” update, and I had never experienced any visual issues — no screen tearing, loading delays, or anything like that. Even after the launch of The Breach, while I saw some players reporting performance problems and bugs, I seemed blessed and didn’t encounter any of them.
Well, with the hotfix from May 7th, things changed drastically for me. Unfortunately, the game has become unplayable — to the point where I had so much visual lag that I literally fell off a cliff because I couldn’t see where I was walking
Another issue I remember seeing on the fix list (or that had supposedly been fixed) was invisible enemies. Up until now, I had never seen that happen — but after the May 7th hotfix, it became frequent. While exploring, I’ll suddenly start getting attacked by something I can’t see — only the targeting reticle appears — and then the enemy finally renders, already very close to me.
I have a solid PC that normally runs visually demanding games with no problem. I believe a RTX 3060 and 16 GB RAM should be more than enough for NRFTW.
Right now, though, it’s really unplayable for me. I hope this gets fixed soon.
That said, the game is absolutely amazing — beautiful and punishing, just as it should be. And to think I was never really into Souls-likes, but this one completely got me.
for me performance is mostly fine (so far), but i noticed that some stutters might be related to popups showing up. especially when building projects are finished or bounties are completed, the onscreen notification of those events causes small stutters lasting for a couple of seconds. then everything returns to normal
not just stutters but general performance issues, i have a 4090ti and a 14900k, it now runs my cpu up to 90 degrees and my gpu up to 80 degrees, its basically unplayable right now where before the hotfixes it ran 20 degrees cooler.
I would like to report increased stutters and FPS drops after Hotfix 4 too. They were present before but were super less frequent. Now even after the zone load lag, the stutters are present. FPS drops now are insane for me. I have a pretty high end computer so I know there’s something else wrong. Places where stutters weren’t present now stutters and have low FPS. The only place I find the stutters and lag are completely gone is inside my Sacrament home.
