Parrying needs riposte

Parrying is kind of pointless, unless you have a benefit on your shield, like health regen or something.
Also with the change to backstabs, there’s no point in parrying anymore.

Parry an attack, run behind him, get prompt for like split second, then it disappears because you were perfectly aligned.

Parrying is HUGELY dangerous and risky and can get you killed if you screw up one combo hit. There’s NO benefit to parrying, no riposte.
Yay, I can hit the guy 2 MAYBE 3 times before he gets up and destroys me. I can do that normally anyways without the risk of mistiming the parry window.

I think they need to extend parry timing. It’s still too unforgiving. It mostly worked in the tutorial and with some clearly slow and telegraphed human melee enemies, but anything else is too short a window and I’ve quickly reverted to just dodge rolling and trying to strafe around the enemy. It’s even worse because parry still consumes stamina.

i think they need to make it clearer that you get 100 focus on parry. because of posts like this

I had forgotten about that.

I really like parrying so in this game I try to play through it, but here it is extremely difficult to do so, because my character died countless times. I have never met any game where it was so difficult to parry attacks. In Sekiro where the whole game is made around parrying was not as difficult as here on some ordinary monsters. I had to run into some of the enemies for hours to figure out how to parry some of their attacks and if it was even possible. And even after spending a lot of time I’m still not sure which attacks can be parried. All in all, they clearly have a lot of work to do in this area. In the next hotfix they are already going to improve parrying and backstabbing.
