Normal looking arms

Now, that’s a really funny screenshot / comment xD

I’m not here to vibe, I’m here to provide feedback. This isn’t the high school lunch table or student government elections.

I don’t care whether you’re fine with the artistic choice, that’s your prerogative. What I do care is when some asshole comes here and attacks and dismisses people who are not fine with it.

Games that have aspirational characters that people want to look like or find visually appealing just sell better. Alexei and I have offered feedback on how we think some changes might help the game. I’ve had acquaintances I try to get to play the game just outright quit out of the game at character creation.

You can believe yourself superior to them all you want, but these are people not buying the game that could be easily fixed with some sliders/better customization. You don’t care how much a game sells because you’re only concerned with your experience as a consumer. But a developer does not have that luxury.

Nitpicking masked as marketing concerns, go take a walk or idk get a job, creativity doesn’t have to bend according to boring standards like these lol

This is the devs decision and vision. I like it. It feels unique. We are inundated with UE5 ultra realistic style which pretty much is done using UE5 stock assets. It’s boring as fck.

I prefer NRftW like it is now.

Are you okay? I wrote about two different models for the same female character directly from the devs. This change of “art style” doesn’t bother you

They’re just malicious in their replies, no point in engaging.

Especially when they go on and on about the visions of the developer.

It was not a vision for the developers to have a class system, and now we’re having a class rework incoming because the developers changed their visions about stats.

The developers had a vision about a single difficulty, Thomas himself said on interviews they prefer to make difficulty scale like Elden Ring, where leveling up and gearing would reduce difficulty. Then they also changed that vision with the realm difficulty tiers.

The developers had a vision about the utility runes, which would go on weapons, and now that vision went and changed to be separately assigned to the character.

The developers had a vision about healing and their food system being their chosen method of healing. Then they saw the complaints and put in a healing rune that can replace the food in exchange for focus/

The developers had a vision about inventory management and resource limits, and then they went and added more slots and increased stack limits to 999 from 20.

The developers had a vision about ranged combat and decided to limit ranged attacks to focus, and then had a change of that vision and now you have ranged stamina attacks so you don’t have to melee.

Visions change all the time based on player reception and feedback. An artistic vision is not the damn bible. Game design can change, it’s not set in stone.

Changing a stat is much different from changing a model and animation style. The attacks will not look the same with normal arms. Thomas has talked about this in regards to key framing vs mocap. He wanted the attacks to be exaggerated and cool rather than realistic. Please just stick to nsfw games for your attractive fetishes and let the devs cook some cool combat.

lol, the animations work just fine for the female character, who has smaller arms.

I’ll stick to muting your dumb posts instead and the idea that you are important enough to tell people what games they should play, as if you owned this one above all others.

Actually in gameplay female characters have long male’s arms. But I doubt that reduce arm’s length on 5-10% make combat and animation impossible. It’s just stupid excuse

The length isn’t even what most people complain about anyways, it’s the popeye factor where the forearms are actually significantly thicker than the biceps and triceps. And the scare crow stick legs with zero calves.

The males have this silverback gorilla popeye forearms and the tiny stick legs that look wrong in plate and cloth armor, and these are issues not present in the female model.

But you’re right, your improvements in your image are not even super drastic and they’re still highly appreciated.

People aren’t even asking to take the originals away, just to have some sliders so people can have some semblance of degree and customization.

The biceps / forearms ratio is an old tradition at MoonStudio (see Ori picture) and I’m in love with it.

Let us just end this debate here. You guys are talking about a complete update of the animations / weapons length / weapons reach / weapons hitbox / combat feedback. It’s 95% chance not gonna happen.

So, if this design direction is enough for some players to not buy the game, then so be it.

NRFTW will survive this economic loss.

This is not a debate.

These are feedback forums.

The intended purpose of a post is to communicate to developers your feedback. Not to convince some fan trying to shut you down. After all, you were the same people attacking those proposing fast travel and difficulty realms, and some even the Star Dew Valley aspects of the game.

Comparing a human to Ori is one hell of a stretch.

Again, you say it’s the Moon studio style, but it did not extend to the female design.

No I wasn’t. Anyway, doesn’t matter.

Let us just end this debate here. You guy are talking about non human creature

One more time when in-game character has normal looking arms. How terrible! The devs broke their own “art style” (again)!

i actually mentioned this in my huge ass feedback.

the art direction IS interesting. it makes the game very unique.

but if i m being very honest, i rather just have regular boring human proportions.

i actually rerolled a female character because i disliked how my character looked so much.

NO DISRESPECT to the art direction. it is really unique and i DO appreciate it a huge bunch. its just that its very divisive. it can actually hurt the game’s sales. as you can see people are actively asking for regular portioned characters.

its weird. its one of the times i can say i both hate and love something at the same time depending on mood.

give us a choice to choose between the two for a compromise. i guess.
