please please. just wipe all accounts. the reason for this is many players will return and be confused their saves cant get into breach. other players will become confused that their account not updated. it is a hard sacfrifice, but announce full account wipe so the pain is less and returning players have no confusion.
the second reason to wipe accounts, even if after a few weeks delay into new patch, is players will compare legacy content to new content. the last most important reason to wipe all accounts of legacy soon after breach is potential save corruption: by accident and sometimes on purpose, players used the save system in a way to multiply and transfer clone items. i want all of the game resources to be didicated to the new patch. if players on legacy accounts use this to gain advntage in pvp or eveling up fast, this could cause a big controversy. the best path forward is to full wipe all accounts at minimum, before pvp releases. this includes legacy saves.
a potential incentive for day 1 players who account is wiped is to offer unique rewards and items, or weapons and cosmetics that will mark these accounts as day 1 players in pvp and co op. this way a thank you is given, while ensuring the new patch launch has minimal bugs and save errors/save glitch cheating.

I agree, but thats a little arbitrary, they will catch up eventually, i mean they might made i few threads here and on steam asking for help but people will understand, who wants to play a beta version of the game, im more worried people will be pissed if or when more wipes are necessary.
I spent so much time to max out my char and get all the weapons and enchants that I liked just for it to be wiped, also what will happen to my Cerim armor that I claimed on the legacy world?
How is wiping all the saves a smart idea, I understand the incompatibility if there are new game systems but still this feel like a gut kick to players who spend 40+ hours to minmax their chars just to have to lose it all
Man its EA, you should know those things happen in EA, Tainted Grail just announced 2 more wipes before release, so be ready because any other major change in the game might deserve a wipe to avoid any nasty bugs here and there, imo this is better than to have an unstable game.
the cerim armor claim is a good point. i think players who bought on day 1 (pre breach) should recieve some sort of thank you package. maybe cerim spec type armor and weapons for a fast start to leveling the breach character
yes yes. i was one of the guys who discovered the bypass to the boss isn sewers and it despawned my sewer key and killed the story in my day 1 save. it pained me to make a new character, but it had to be done. in the same sense, when i start the breach, i dont want any nasty bugs or glitches in my save files that could ruin a good build.
