First, I need say that Luv is game! Having said that:
I understand, that Early Access servers will permanently exist for play, but it will not receive any meaningful updates afer the launch of 1.0 Patch.
If the above is correct, then I’m not seeing an incentive to invest my time in the game in itscurrent state. I’m a player who doesn’t enjoy seasonal play/starting over. I’m hoping a forum moderator can jump in here share fact from fiction on this topic.
The one fact we have is that 1.0 will come with a wipe. And even though all updates before The Breach got cordoned off in the crucible_legacy beta branch, that is not promised for the whole early-access game version.
I think you made your choice already?
If you don’t like starting over, I highly recommend you wait until 1.0!
I can understand wondering why bother if a wipe is coming, but I am too gosh darn addicted to stop, lol. I am gonna keep trying new builds and weapons, and frankly I feel lucky I can still play, some games have a few days, or week to play beta and then we all have to wait months for the full game.
I love that it’s here for me right now, and 1.0 is gonna feel so sweet.
Hey Silas! And thank you for the response. Could you provide more details on the Legacy part of the game? I heard that it recieve new items (weapons, armor, etc…), but will it be receive new areas/maps as the storyline progresses? Will it also be a complete version of the game? I’m excited for the future of this game. I really luv that this team is empowering the player to be creative in there builds. I don’t believe there has ever been a game that has allowed this much freedom. Can’t wait!
P.S. Like ECHO said, this “game is addictive”. Maybe I will keep playing.
Early access, like Beta tests, are meant mainly for the curious and those who wanna test the game or invest into the game’s future. It is implied that we don’t get to keep our progress even though it may be frustrating to lose it and even though we have to pay for it. And, it is a bit unrealistic to ask of devs to make sure we can keep our progress as the game is likely to change considerably on release.
At this point, I’ve completed the campaign 6 times from scrath on 6 different builds in a little under 200 hours of total game time and while I’m a bit burned out, I’ll still replay the game again - even at this stage - simply because, for me, the gameplay, the challenging difficulty, the dynamic combat and the progression is more fun then any other game on the market even though my progress isn’t permantly saved.
