New Tool : Bags

I must introduce myself, I am Ctrl, a Wicked Enjoyer.
Tell me - can you feel it? That lack of inventory space?

Hello everyone,
In the spirit of The Breach, my excitement for the game is at an all time high, which brings me back here, the Forums. Today’s topic ; making Inventory management accessible earlier while also following established game mechanics and logic. I am referring to none other than our loyal survival game best friend ; Back packs.

We have an array of tiered tools that works as you would expect ; Tier 1 resources to craft Tier 1 Tools and so on. So why don’t we also bring Back Packs to this list? We just so happen to have 2 empty tool slots for future additions.

Here is how the current inventory looks like from the moment you wash ashore on Sacra’s beach.

This 7x5 grid will soon become your worst nightmare due to the low amount of space, wide amount of ressources and low stack counts the game allows you to carry on your person. Bags solves all of that.

TIER 1 BAG :

  • Unlocks the 5th inventory row of every tabs,
  • Can be purchased for copper at Filimore’s shop pre-Sacrament,
  • Crafted with 3x Craft Leather and 2x Jute Garment at the Sewing table, blueprint required,
  • The Blueprint can be purchased at Mira and Meri’s Tailor Shop from Tier 1.

TIER 2 BAG :

  • Unlocks the 6th Inventory row of every tabs,
  • Crafted with 3x Durable Leather and 2x Linen Garment at the Sewing table, blueprint required,
  • The Blueprint can be purchased at Mira and Meri’s Tailor Shop from Tier 2.

TIER 3 BAG :

  • Unlocks the 7th Inventory row of every tabs,
  • Crafted with 3x Soft Leather and 2x Wool Garment at the Sewing table, blueprint required,
  • The Blueprint can be purchased at Mira and Meri’s Tailor Shop from Tier 3.

TIER 4 BAG :

  • Increases the max carry-able quantity of items from 20 to 25 for all stack able items,
  • Crafted with 3x ??? Leather and 2x ??? Garment at the Sewing table, blueprint required,
  • The Blueprint can be obtained from a side quest at Mira and Meri’s Tailor Shop from Tier 4.

TIER 5 BAG :

  • Increases the max carry-able quantity of items from 25 to 30 for all stack able items,
  • Crafted with 3x Full Grain Leather and 2x ??? Garment at the Sewing table, blueprint required,
  • The Blueprint can be obtained from a side quest at Mira and Meri’s Tailor Shop from Tier 5.

TIER 6 BAG :

  • Increases the max carry-able quantity of items from 30 to 40 for all stack able items,
  • Crafted with 3x ??? Leather and 2x ??? Garment at the Sewing table, blueprint required,
  • The Blueprint can be obtained from a side quest at Mira and Meri’s Tailor Shop from Tier 6.

Soft Spoiler, Thomas has shown us tools tier up to tier 6, most likely the last tier. Which is why I provided those as well, here’s the Watering can for a future farming update he shared with us :

That’s it for this topic,
Let me know if this solution is something you’d like to see introduced, this topic became of the upmost importance to me when I saw that we would now need to use 5 of our precious Ichors to increase our max amount of Combat heals from 5 to 10 per combat, making inventory spaces drop in priority, thus extending the hours of gameplay where inventory management will be a nuisance to the player. In a perfect future, I’d want Ichor to be much more rare but also serve a meaningful purpose. Those 3 ring slots and equipment slots should be unlocked from the start, as weapons are already soft lock through the weight classes, and rings are simply quite rare to begin with.

Ichor being used for upgrading your amount of usable heals is a great idea, if they can introduce an additional equally meaningful Ichor upgrade, those previous options could finally be given to the player differently.. Like this Back Pack idea.
