So after playing the game for over 50 hours i can honestly say I’m loving the game. I’ve played a bit of solo but mostly played with 2 other friends. and got as far as Marin Village. her is the feedback and are honest opinions of the game as it is.
the combat, story and graphics/design are great. cutscenes are beautiful and the world is well made and the combat is tactical and action packed. however some of the melee attacks of larger enemy’s can track the player a bit to hard and as for the world i feel that some breakable guardrails in some areas would be nice (where they would make sense to be build there) and some of the longer ladders are more imbedded in to the stone or platforms to prevent going over, as me and my friend have dead to falling dozens of times over to not grabbing the ladder, or just being to close to a ledge when running and the bad Dodge rolls when jumping down to the platform below or avoiding a attack when in a fight (spatial awareness is low or camera zoomed), this go’s double for Marin woods upper areas i think this would help people who cant get there head around the running in jumping and also for all the hardcore players too, as depth perception is hard when you have a locked camera view.
here are some additional things what we thought would be nice to have or additional improvements.
- with the new embers in the together update I’ve noticed that there becoming even harder to come across, with only only 22 and most of them where void and awakening plus with more players means we have to spread them out more, we agree that it would be nice if at some point the enchantress sells some of them as we don’t see them much in Grinnich shop and preferable make them more likely to be found in the big gold chests or boss drops. hell i haven’t seen a fallen ember since the first area of are playthrough.
- he would like more statistics in the stats window like calculating crit on a weapons life steal gain and so on, we like being able to open the stat screen like in other ARPGs that have all of the stats added with out having to do the math are self all the time. also the compendium could have more things for clarification, but we know is new, but knowing more clarification on essences, enchantments and runes would be nice.
- we would like there to be some way to see all the runes descriptions more easier as well as there cost to cast, as buying items kind have a feeling of uncertainly, also being able to rearrange runes with out a cost too.
- we would like there a way to bring back are friend from the Crucible if posable perhaps at Seneschal you can use one of the two recourses to open the pool portal for them to come back.
- more info in key words on gear, for the longest time we didn’t know what a lot of the word mean or how there damage is relevant to me, as of right now I’m still uncertain of what the difference is between “thorns” and “deal Damage on Damage Taken” and what there damage % is based off of. though i thought “deal Damage on Damage Taken” was being replaced by “thorns” but I’m still finding both enchantments.
In the end we are enjoying are time with the game. (even if my friends get frustrated when falling or getting one-shot all the time xD) in the end dyeing is part of the game and i don’t think “that” is a Souls like mechanic is just part of losing in games and what this Arpg games do. we look forward to your 1.0 release, though ill be sticking around till ya do so and keep giving my feed back.
