Lack of pure Strength weapons on playthrough

I finished old and new content last night and i found myself in situation i thought i would ever see in souls type game: I had ONLY 2 other pure str weapons drop in whole playthrough. Counting 1h and 2h.

And from the 2 their scaling/moveset/speed was 30% or more inferior than Claymore. I know balance is not focus in this phase, but this kind of balance have to bee addressed because it goes hand in hand with testing.

Another thing is, too many of the STR type weapons are pure faith/pure int/str int or str faith. I get it that hybrid archepytes need weapons but this has gone too far. I felt so many times betrayed when i see “2 handed axe” dropped and it is pure faith weapon or pure int weapon. They dont even look like it.

EXAMPLE:

TLDR:

  • Claymore is too broken
  • We need some way to get another compareable STR weapon so we could choose for the playthrough
  • Too many faith/int weapons that should be str weapons

Fix?

  • More crafting recipes?
  • Change some weapons to pure STR?
  • Nerf claymore scaling so other weapons get even chance

And i know some other one might have had diff experience but if it happaned to me, it could happen to someone else and i can tell you, this was not fun experience for my character progression. I played with first weapon through whole game even i did not want ( i have done it before ).

Edit: Fixed some text
Edit2: Added example for weird attribute choice for weapon that does not make sense

Yea, this is kind of similar experience to mine in context of drops - pure STR equipment is extremely rare.

I find it so random the requirements on some of the weapons makes no sense

Well, moveset is really really good, strength scaling is really good. Easily best “standard” weapon. I wish alot more other weapons would aim to be baseline same.

I have found ~4 other str 2 handers after playthrough and only +42str req ones were similiar or better. Both of them do more damage and other one has better moveset and speed on top of that.
But Claymore is S-tier from the start and it is littlebit sad that other weapons are not baseline as good. But maybe it is just my opinion.
