So what’s coming next? I’m kinda sick of the lackluster communication or the missable chats with thomas or some random interview that isn’t even mentioned on the steam news or the wicked twitter account.
EVERY OTHER EA TITLE DOES IT BETTER. (big or small)
The entitlement here is kinda crazy. We dont know whats happening on a daily basis at the studio. To imply that you do is insanity. Early Access has barely been out 4 months. To give you a comparison Baldurs Gate 3 early access was out for 3 YEARS! before it fully released. If this is how you’re getting after a few months you are in for a rouuuughhhh time. Chill out bruv and just enjoy the game, i know i am.
i can see both sides here. but i have to disagree with the whole “silent treatment” thing. Dev team is active here and responds to major issues almost immediately.
i too would wish for at least a rough timeline. it does not have to be “in 2 weeks hotfix X will fix Y” but something like “Q1 2025 multiplayer integration” or something would def. be nice to have. still a vague timeframe of 3 months, but it would suffice to satisfy peoples curiosity
but i also get why there is no roadmap. it would maybe put too much pressure out. and people would still be disappointed. take the last update for example. people expected MP and got crucible. if u have that “set in stone” by using a roadmap, you will def. piss people off if u change things. so there is also upsides to not having a schedule out there. upsides for both sides!
I personally am invested enough in this project that i can live with either decision. i trust the process.
I also think there is a level of complexity to designing the roadmap. As they initially presented a roadmap, however they adjusted that based on community feedback. This also caused some confusion with people who expected multiplayer. Like @Chemile0n already mentioned.
Therefore, I think it is smart that they take some more time planning it out properly. In whatever fashion it gets presented it will have consequences for the future. So it is important to get everything right. coughEnchantingcoughCraftingcough.
Whilst I appreciate the more ‘‘informal’’ information drops on X and through interviews etc. I would still like some form of devlogs so we are kept up to speed throughout EA. They can be monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly. Ánd, they can include w/e the devs want to show us. It keeps us interested and excited for the future.
I just see it as it literally doesn’t matter. Whether they tell us anything or not it won’t speed up or slow down the development. And what’s anyone gonna do, take PTO for a freaking EA game update lmaoooo. This ain’t MH Wilds.
You really need to work on your attitude if you want a constructive conversation with a dev. They are people too despite the fact you have paid money to them, that doesn’t mean theyll respond to demands.
Do you know the inner workings of the company? Early access is not priority access. You are not purchasing the first chapter of a game, you are helping a company shape their game by testing it.
What good would be a roadmap if they end up realizing players like something better or disklike something that the team likes internally? They would need to rework the roadmap all the time.
Now it’s the time for them to build, test and improve.
Just chill. Enjoy what you have and move on to another game while they keep cooking.
