Improve Treasure Chests

An idea to further improve the treasure chests rewards experience, and encourage even more exploring.

  1. When a player opens a big chest for the first time, it should deliver a guaranteed, exciting reward—such as a 100% ember drop. After that initial discovery, future respawns can draw from a randomized loot table.

  2. The same principle can be applied to small chests: the first time guarantees a fixed reward, while subsequent openings rely entirely on RNG.

  3. Additionally, consider implementing a tracker that logs how many unique big and small chests a player has discovered. Link these milestones to achievements and unlockable rewards.

  4. For instance, reaching discovery thresholds like 25/50/75/100% of all chests could grant exclusive titles such as Master Explorer, along with achievements and unique gear—rings, weapons, or even an ultimate explorer outfit.

With mechanics like these in place, I can easily see myself—and many others—spending countless hours simply exploring, knowing that every step forward offers meaningful progress and tangible rewards.

This system would dramatically enhance the incentive to explore, making the already breathtaking world even more rewarding to engage with.
