Hunter's Vale Can't Progress

Hello

I just got to the part of the game where you release the waters in the lumber mill, and now I am supposed to go check on the hunters. When I walk to the camp the area looks disturbed, and there is a whisper near the river. But the issue is that when I walk into the camp everything is totally fine like nothing had ever happened, and all of the npcs are there in the exact same state as when you first discover the camp.

The only thing I can think of that could have caused it was that I teleported back to the market in order to make some space in my inventory, but I was having a difficult time uploading the log files.

Hey BarnWizard, thanks for the report.

Can you check this comment? Whisper Area after The Lost Huntress Inaccessible if you Teleport/fall into the Water - #4 by Mikha

That person says he eventually got the game to correct the location itself eventually, though it’s vague what it actually was.

Would you also be able to submit some files for us?

They are listed here: How to Properly Report Bugs!

Much obliged!

Silas

Thank you for responding!

Didn’t see that there was someone with the same issue, but at least theres some hope that my progress isn’t halted forever. When I get a chance after work I’ll try to get those sent over to you.

Thank you

Ye my advice is to start Marin Woods (do make sure you have Roots That Bind quest in your log) and periodically check back

Hi. My friends and I are having the same problem.

  • I did the skip/shortcut listed here Lowland Meadows sequence break (minor) . I’m not sure if that triggered the issue.

  • Just before the guards tell us about the beast, we returned to Sacramenta. When we walk through the trunk, the cinematic doesn’t start.

As you suggested, we started Marin Woods, but we got stuck because the right gate is closed. In my opinion, if we can’t find the solution after 3+ hours, and the game is that linear, we shouldn’t be able to access that area until we finish another one.

We didn’t start Roots That Bind because we forgot to start Unnamed Passage (God Service)

Please, we don’t want to restart our realm.

Hi Raul,

You didn’t had Roots That Bind active when starting Marin Woods? And you didn’t had Nameless Pass completed yet either?

How did you get into Lowland Meadows then before? Was the bridge lowered from Sacrament?

@Silas-Inservio-Pax Hi,

We crossed the damaging hands by healing ourselves while going through them. After getting the first seed, we were able to obtain the others using the same trick.

We haven’t done anything related to Nameless Pass or Roots That Bind. We never receive wiping sister but I receive a letter for Eleanor.

Regarding Lowland Meadows, I’m not sure what you mean by how we got there. We simply walked from the market toward the southeast of Sacramenta. If you keep walking, you eventually reach Lowland Meadows. We never spoke with Ellsworth or Winnick.

We completed the entire left side of the area, including lowering the water. Then, before going back to the hunters, we returned to the market. After coming back, nothing triggered.

Hm alright.

You have done so many quests out of sequence, I highly recommend to start a new Realm as to not have so many broken issues anymore.

Do the quests in this order (and do NOT start maps without having their attached quest)

  1. Servant of God - Nameless Pass
  2. Of Rats and Raiders - Black Trench
  3. Weeping Sisters - Lowland Meadows
  4. Roots That Bind - Marin Woods
  5. last part of the campaign before the end.

I think we have the same issue, but I can confirm that its not because we went to the town first because I just did a run with my brother and made sure not to travel to town first and still had the issue. I think its because I inadvertently did the skip as well, but from a different spot which I can screenshot. Same thing with the Marin woods as well, I looked up the Roots that Bind You quest but did not have it in my quest log and the Blacksmith’s apprentice wasn’t giving it either. I also went and was able to run through the plague to get the seed as well, but the gates were shut and I couldn’t find a way to progress.

Looking at the quests, I had already completed the Servant of god, but I definitely didn’t complete of rats and raiders on either save, on my first one I talked to the prisoner but didn’t release him, and in my second save I didn’t talk to him at all. But the drawbridge in the southeast corner of the map was already down and I was able to walk right in to the lowland meadows without issue, and I never received the weeping sisters quest in either realm, which makes sense because it was super jarring to suddenly have Winnick and Ellsworth show up out of nowhere once I drained the reservoir.

Here is the spot I climbed through:

You cannot receive the quest if you don’t complete Of Rats and Raiders and Servant of God first.

The skip doesn’t matter for the quest completion btw, but you were already set up for halted progression if you went into the map without having the quest.

Alright well at least I’ll be able to start a new realm and keep that one for farming dailies, thats definitely one of the things I love about this game. I hope my blunders were of use to the team

Thank you for the help!

Enjoy your new realm

Little sidenote, why do you link to Yahoo Mail?

Silas

I… have no clue why its linked to my yahoo account. Very odd.

Hm I understand, you are sending these replies via email

The Yahoo service automaticall puts a link in the reply somehow, I’ve edited it out for now.

Hi @Silas-Inservio-Pax ! For anyone who might find this post in the future: somehow our save fixed itself. These were the steps we followed:

First, we finished Servant of God – Nameless Pass.

Then we completed the parts of Weeping Sisters that we had previously skipped. It was a bit strange because the quest seems to have around 10 steps. We had originally done steps 5–10, and now we had to go back and complete steps 1–4.

After that, we finished Roots That Bind.

Finally, we were able to complete the last part of the game with The Watcher.

My conclusion is that running into so many bugs did hurt the immersion a bit, but despite that we still had a lot of fun and we’re really happy we managed to finish the game. We’re looking forward to version 1.0!
