I successfully entered the dark cave in the Lowland Meadows once, and after a few minutes I became unable to move my character. I could still access the menu, audio played normally, etc, but I could not move. I was forced to exit the game and load back in, at which point the game hangs on the load screen and I have to force stop the game through the Steam HUD.
I was able to load back into my Realm from last Whisper and continue playing normally, but now every time I enter the cave, the game hangs on the load screen and I have to force quit. This means that I am not able to pass through the cave, leaving me soft-locked and unable to progress the Weeping Sisters questline.
If it’s relevant, I first entered the cave before completing the sewer questline and being given the Weeping Sisters quest.
I know that others are reporting issues with the Lowland Meadows, but this is not a crash-to-desktop issue and does not appear to be a performance problem.
I walk into the cave, and the game hangs at the load screen. I cut the video at 40 seconds, but 10 minutes later as I type this, there is still no change. Audio continues to play normally, so the application isn’t frozen, but the loading process is stuck. The loading animation (where the star of hands fills) also goes unusually quickly before the game hangs (load screens normally last 3-4 seconds on my PC, but this one fills within 1 second), which is another sign that assets aren’t actually being loaded properly.
I’ve tried entering the cave about 5 or 6 times now, and the issue has a 100% repro rate. I also made a new realm and advanced to the Weeping Sisters quest and the area loads normally. I passed through the dark cave with no problems in the fresh realm, which means we can rule out corrupted game files or anything of that nature. And then when I created a new character and tried to enter the cave in the original realm, the game still hangs at the load screen, which means that it’s something in the realm’s world state that’s causing the issue.
I’m happy to run any other tests you’d like in order to help try to pinpoint the issue. Good luck pinning down the cause! It’s a fantastic game so far, but a hard lock on a core progression quest several hours into a playthrough is tough. I’d hate for that to sour people’s experience of an otherwise excellent title.
Same issue here, to the point that I cannot load the character anymore unless I spawn at last whisper. 100% repro rate, blocking the playthrough essentially.
My game gets suck on the loading screen, and never moves past it when I enter the meadow’s mines, in the main questline following Ellsworth in the meadows.
I backtracked and completed all of Marin Village, and went back to the mine and still get stuck on the same loading screen.
Ill try here before I make my own post but i now have that same issue. I enter the cave and i get sent back to main menu and have to reload from my last whisper.
