Giving Decorations and Furniture some Utility

Hey there, I’ve played NRFTW since EA launch and I’ve been loving every second of it, I really think MOON hit the bullseye here, but no game should shy away from constructive criticism and feedback, so here’s my take on :

“Decorations and Furniture”

In my personal opinion Utility is King, also giving some meaning to a game feature besides aesthetics would also make people interact with it alot more.

-Furniture and decorations inside your house give a temporary “Comfort buff”.

The Comfort buff gives a 0.2x effect of consumables for 10 minutes, scaling with the amount and quality of decorations you have, stacking up to 2x (max).
Ex: Let’s say that you have a table, a chair and some lights. 3 items total would make you comfort buff of 0.3 (the value could scale with quality or price of decorations intead of quantity, or rather some more expensive decorations could provide higher values of comfort instead). Additional furniture would have no effect.

The buff could be activated by simply walking around inside your house for a time period or instantly by sleeping or eating at a table,

Eating at a table could also be implemented, increasing the amount of healing a meal would provide while also instantly apply the comfort buff and increasing the meal’s buff duration.

This would make use of the large amount and variety of decorations already in the game, making it more engaging and of course useful.

Thanks for reading.

Cheers.

I think the house system should be useful and fun for those who want it. For those who like to decorate, the game gives this option (without benefits just for fun), for those who don’t like it, it’s okay.
Bringing benefits to decorative items is a good idea, I personally would like to be able to improve houses, like we do with Danos (delivering resources), you increase the space and improve the interior, I would also like to see mannequins and displays added to show off equipment, more furniture, for sure and I would also like an easier way to acquire furniture projects.

I “lost” my time with this but for me is fun.
