Game crashes to desktop after Crucible update

At first I was able to get to NRftW main menu and select my character but immediately, after clicking on “continue”, the game crashes.
So I decided to create a new character and see what happens… Same issue.
Tried deleting my save data located in “appdata/locallow/moon studios” and, again, same issue.
Now the game crashes before reaching the main menu.
I already have 19 hours in game (I can’t refund the game on steam because of this). Ran perfectly before the latest Crucible patch (dropping fps in certain areas but that’s ok. The game is, after all, in early access).
I already tried posting on the NRftW discord server about this issue. Got only 1 reply which was to try and reinstall the game (done, of course).

btw, just to let you know guys, I’m trying the “perf_diagnosis” beta and the game runs perfectly. So I’m guessing the issue might be related to the world and/or character created previously. Although some people are playing the game just fine without the need to use “perf_diagnosis” mode.

hey @wishmasterzhai can you try and put these two files into your DataStore folder and relaunching the game?

please be sure to back up your datastore folder before hand.

I just tried this but the issue persists. When I launch the game, it crashes to desktop before reaching main menu.

my game crashes to desktop as well. before this, i was playing just fine (140 hours). i gave the devs my log files and haven’t heard from them since.

please be patient. your posts have been seen and there have also been several replies on different bug and crash reports.

things like that are not fixed in a couple of hours. and aside from that i am sure the team is busy with ironing out all reported issues since the update.

follow the instructions in the thread linked above.

logfiles are files that collect data from the game, crash reports, player logs etc.
with the date the team can investigate the issue, and look for possible causes.

so sending your logfile helps :slight_smile:

the instructions are really easy to follow. if you do have issue with the language, use chatGPT or DeepL to translate, they are both quite good.
